Adam!! Rowena!!.. Great reunion with this episode
First about Adam.. It actually made me feel emotional seeing him like this, abandoned in Hell all these years and now developed this relationship with Michael.. Especially that last scene with Dean, you can see Adam's eyes watering
Now Rowena, I actually felt very sad when they killed her because she grew on me after all these years and kinda transitioned from a villain to an ally and family member.. I totally wasn't expecting to see her anymore in the show but I'm glad that we can still get some Rowena stuff
Anyway, WTF is that scene with God in the parking lot!! Wasn't expecting him to meet the boys this soon.. So what now he wanna chit-chat with Sam after he knew they're planning to team up with Michael, and now Dean and Cas are going to the Purgatory for flower hunt.. I'm actually excited for this since we haven't seen much from that place for a long time but I hope my boys return safely
Great episode overall, and knowing that Michael is on their side now gives me comfort
"Since when do we get what we deserve?"
All these years, I assumed that after the molotov thingy, Adam's soul went to Heaven. Call me an optimist but I liked to think the boys didn't save him because they knew it. I liked a good old "hey, they forgot Adam" joke, so I ran with that. However, he made me feel really sad for him. His last sentence, his face expressions and his eyes watering... Poor kid. I could feel how abandoned he feels and how his relationship with Michael was developed.
Jake Abel was the best part of the episode. Hats off to him! The duality between Michael and Adam was incredibly well portrayed. I'm so damn angry that we didn't get to see this any sooner. It was a bummer that he didn't stay at the end. I hope he comes back somehow. I'm pretty sure he'll be needed to lock God, Amara-style.
It's fun to see how your ideas about how Michael would be or act get subverted in just a second. After seeing Alternate Universe Michael being pretty smart but reckless, I wasn't expecting him to be such a chill guy. It's actually great to see a nice angel every once in a while. He's always been a strong angel, but pretty naive.
I geniuly loved how well he treated Adam and how he takes care of him, even protecting him. I truly loved their scene at the diner when Adam was talking about not being able to go to college anymore or just letting him eat a burger. Really nice angel our Michael.
I loved this version of Michael. He spent all those years in hell and he still manages to be the only well-adjusted brother. I loved how he just Men in Black those people at the diner. Also, the conversation between Adam and Michael while the former was trying to talk some sense I to him about the whole God thing was absolutely great.
Another one who steals the show is Donny. He's such a great addition to the show. His attitude and his one-liners always get me. Plus, his acting in this episode was great, especially when he was possessed by Chuck. I loved that scene, creepy and great at the same time. Even his cadence while speaking was Chuck-like. The way he channeled him was outstanding.
"What is it with you people?! Can't anything you do be easy?! I mean"
"Really? I have to leave? That's too bad" He proceeds to leave at the speed of light
"Excuse me. I need bourbon"
Our red-headed witch is back in the game and taking over Crowley's throne! I actually got mixed feelings when she was killed. I loved her send-off but I hated seeing her go because she's been a character which has grown on me and went from a villain into an ally. But seeing her again brought a smile to my face. And even in Hell, she's still fashionable as always. And classy: "Flesh on flesh sex. Amazon doesn't deliver here...yeeeet" and also how she counceled Dean and Cas, channeling what we're all thinking. "Boys...fix it!"
I cracked when Cas asked Michael whether he remembered him and he replied "You called me assbutt and set me on fire". Those words from Swan Song will never get old.
Also, Richard Speigh Jr, once again, did an amazing job. The camera angle on the boys when they trapped MI hael was outstanding.
Unrelated to this, there's always one thing that gets me and that I don't think I'll ever be over and that's Sam's throat clearing when he's nervous. It gets me every time.
I don't get how the boys haven't updated the bunker's warning. Literally every cresture can step into. Amara, Chuck, Death, Asmodeus, every single one of them just waltzed into the bunker like it's nothing. And the boys still get surprised.
Speaking of Chuck. It was obvious the whole Sue was a trap and that Chuck was behind it. I remember the old Chuck, an awkward but cute guy, and now he's just scary dude appearing in parking lots. I hope nothing bad happens to Eileen, though. I guess hell just use Sam and show him his endings, or just try to heal his wound.
Overall, and amazing episode. Best one so far and Jake Abel had a great part on it. I hope I'll see again in more episodes. I'd be great to see all the archangels joining forces, along with aunty Amara, to lock Chuck in the cage. There were a couple of things that were off, like the classic rock music, which has been off ever since this season started, or that they're still trying to make Dean look like an idiot. But overall, finally a story-packed episode that promises a lot for next ones.
That was a good one.
This was a most excellent episode.
"What'd he say?" Dean
"Leave. Get out. We didn't bond. " (cass humor the best).
Ohhhh, sheeeeeeiiiittt! I'm only 6 seconds into the "THEN", and I've already got tears in my eyes. They've done it. They've finally remembered Adam. Oh, my Chuck, this better be a good episode or so help me Amara...
Chuck can seriously go to Hell. He is, on a mediocre day, 6000x worse than Amara in a bad year. If Amara has been reborn during this time, she absolutely would have slaughtered him, and nobody would try to stop her.
Wait...what? They're not trying to kill God? For the sake of "balance"? Get out of my face with that.Ugh. Metatron. Why'd they have to mention that troll's name? Oh, right, I have to remember that he died as an almost tolerable character............ Nah, eff him.
I was bettin' we'd see Rowena again. After all, she didn't go to the Empty or anything. She just died. Which is one of the reasons why I was annoyed they used that spell on Eileen. It would have benefited them all more to use it on Ketch or Rowena. And I called her "Hello, Boys". Crowley's mother, even in death.Yeah, they literally said a few episodes ago that the door to the Cage was likely opened as well. So why did they assume Michael would still be down there?
Aww, she regrets everything that happened with Crowley. Not just the bad. EVERYTHING. I'm kinda creeped out by Rowena now, but at least her change of heart still stuck.
Wait, wait. So Adam really HAS been in the cage all this time?! WTF, writers?! You really didn't give a damn about him, did you?!?! Michael's the only one who has cared about him in the last decade.
"I tried the family thing." I swear, that better not be the only reference to Lisa and Ben we get all season. And I don't even remember the chick Sam was with. Something about almost running over a dog and a bunch of boring, drawn out, chemistry-less flashbacks?
Well, that's one way to get rid of Lilith. And it's nice to finally have an angel at full power again. How long has it been since we haven't had to worry about fallen wings or lost grace or whatever else? Man, how fun would this last season have been if part of it focused on the misadventures of Adam/Michael (Madam? Adael?) with Michael casually laying down the law when need be? Would've been a lot better than when Lucifer was roaming the earth, switching bodies every couple of minutes.
I quite like Adam. I didn't care for him much the first time around, but now, I keep thinking of what could have been. If Sam and Dean (and Cas_ cared enough to get him out of hell, he could have been a recurring character. He could have been a hunter, an informant, or just someone we saw one last time before he moved on with his life. He better not die by the end of this season. Michael, sure. But Adam better either live or go to Heaven.
I knew the Sue thing was sketchy. She was way too persistent and the minute Eileen agrees, she gets attacked by Vamps? Suspicious.
Ooh, hoo! Bringing back Purgatory! (And the Leviathans, unfortunately.)Didn't it take a bunch of power and prep and such for Lucifer to be able to open a portal. Sure, it was to another universe, but still. Michael shouldn't have been able to whip one up so easily and WITH the handcuffs on.
I don't buy into Dean's "We are sorry" but I do buy into his "You didn't deserve that". Actually, it almost felt like the writers were trying to apologize through Dean. Still doesn't make up for anything.
A lot happened this episode. While this hasn't been one of my favorites this season, it is what a series finale episode should be. Not a bunch of filler with some old references throw in for fan bait. No, actually bringing back old mistakes and addressing them. Saying goodbye to characters once forgotten. Putting a period on sentences previously ended with an ellipses...
Donatello continues to be awesome, and perhaps the most relatable character on the show.
This episode was excellent on every level. Predictable, yes, but satisfyingly so.
So pleased that Rowena is back, even if there aren't many episodes left; it felt wrong to remove such a fun (and not to mention powerful!) character from the board so soon.
dean was so hot in this ep
