If you have any interest in sageuk genre at all, this is a must-watch. The story feels pretty unusual and very dense, with a lot of development and characters having their own goals. At first it almost seems like the show bites off more than it can chew, taking on all the genres at once, but then it slows down to manageable levels and wraps up all the plotlines.
Honestly, while not being a smooth, simple, straightforward experience, the show set a new bar for me of what korean period dramas can do.
