i loved this season! and this episode! i'm gonna miss them :,)
Sure it's corny and sure the amount of arcs and storylines they crammed in here might feel overdone and convoluted, but damn if it didn't feel fulfilling as an ending. Those bemoaning this series of being overly saccharine and corny really need to go back and watch the show again. It's always been this way; to criticise the series for it now feels a little obtuse and reflects more on yourself than it does the show. For the weekly comfort blanket that this show was, and for all the problems it had throughout the second season, this was the ending that is most fitting and what these characters deserved. I will watch the inevitable spin-off that the forces of capitalism squeeze out, but for right now Ted Lasso was a great video valium that I'm going to miss taking every week.
Go be a Goldfish you all
I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING
That's goodbye. It does nothing for me. It feels hollow. It feels calculated. Like they wanted you to feel something. I didn't feel anything. That's a 101 Hollywood ending. Nothing to see here. At least they didn't win the title and made it even more boring. And again those horrible soccer scenes (The goal was offside. Correct. But Richmond's goalkeeper cleared the ball with his hand outside the box before. Should have been a red card.) All scenes on the pitch are barely watchable. Only good joke: the greyhound wears a helmet! That's cute. And sad given the fate of his predecessor. Loose ends are not really connected. Or very sloppily. Like the Dutch pilot story. It's basically two scenes and 20 seconds tops that are dedicated to what will happen to Rebecca and her three-season-long pursuit of true love. Other characters don't even get a proper good-bye.
I’m actually crying
want to erase my memory and watch it again
Wow, how the mighty have fallen. Was this season produced by the Hallmark channel? The schmaltzy music that plays in the background every other scene, the forced feel-good vibe, the corny jokes, the cringy musical interlude during this episode, that fucking Ed Sheeran montage…. it’s all so incredibly lame and cheap. Any of the sharp wit and quirk from the first two seasons has completely disappeared from the show. Instead this entire season felt like a bunch predictable, bland, sentimental nonsense made for the broadest of audiences.
It's weird, I can appreciate that, functionally, this was an excellent conclusion and yet, because of how invested we are in these characters, it doesn't feel enough. I don't think it could ever feel enough.
Don't think I didn't notice the book Ted was reading at the end, though.
Ah... It's so sad when u reach here, the end of the journey, Great ending for one of best series that touched my heart ever
Really sad and wanted to cryyyy
Damn
Well well... This is a tough one isn't it? Quite a predicament we all face.
The worst season of the 3 - gave way to a lot of wokeness and ridiculous script by well-being committee. Once Ted needed the shrink in season two, it seems it opened the floodgates.
On the other hand, we do get the redemption of Nate. The rounding out of Roy.
But for all that, the awkwardly wedged-in lesbian relationship that ends just as awkwardly. The teasing of Rebecca's future that is alluded to as an after thought...
See, it's just a minefield of wrongs and rights isn't it?
So let's just go with how I felt at the final moment of the credits.... I felt that it wasn't an egregious wrap up like so many shows. I was content with the Ted thread but very happy with the Roy Kent/Nate/Beard one.
I honestly don't know though if I'd recommend this show to people now. After the first season, it was all I could do to not tap on strangers' shoulders and tell them to run and watch this. After season two and that god awful Beard After Dark episode, it was a qualified recommendation that it is very good but there's a bit of nonsense creeping in and also that episode should be avoided like the plague.
Given season three from episode three to nine is a cluster bomb of wokery and 'tv by social media approval' then the whole series became something of a chore.
It'll be a while before I settle on this one.
Fuck the haters. This shit was beautiful.
Be a goldfish.
BELIEVE
I'm not crying. You are :sob:
I liked the finale, ignoring whatever the hell that musical bit was, but Season 3 on the whole has been a massive drop off from the previous two. Longer drawn-out episodes, spending too much time with characters you care little about, bad corny jokes and writing. Not a good season, but it was tied up nicely I think.
Amazing show, absolutely perfect ending. Bittersweet.
Very much looking forward to what Sudeikis surprises us with next.
Beautiful way to end a series. I'm not much into footbol at all, but this series was something else. And even tho that it makes me sad that it ended, i prefer that to a cancellation or to an unnecessary stretch of it. The whole season was a bit cornier than the rest, but i'm not even mad. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me get involved in the characters. Great series, great finale
I sobbed. The ending was absolutely PERFECT.
I can't believe there will never be a new Ted
lasso episode.
It hasn't been any good since season 1 to be honest, but I'll still miss spending time with some of the players. The less time spent with the tedious Keeley and Rebecca, the better.
And thankfully we won't need to listen to British people saying things they literally never would, for the sake of US audiences. So cringe.
Please, no spin-offs.
One of the best shows I have ever seen.
For the most part, a fantastic farewell for this show and especially for the character of Ted Lasso. They sowed the seeds for this decision from the very beginning of the season and even though you know it's coming, it doesn't make it any less emotional saying goodbye. Ted is a character that came into Richmond and fundamentally changed the hearts and minds of these characters and ultimately inspired them down paths that would turn them into people who strive to be the best versions of themselves through the support and leniency on those around them. It was never about winning for him, and we see that exemplified both in the outcome of the season and in his ultimate decision to go back home to his son. Richmond may have finished second in the league, but the team finished on top and Ted did all he could for these characters and the larger community. I like to think he'll take the Lasso way with him in his next stage of life and inspire the same in even more people back home. Him leaving in the end is one of the best examples of a bittersweet finale I have ever felt. I'm happy for him and I know it's the right decision for him personally, but man is it so hard to see him go and watch the team carry on without him. It's comforting to know that he will always be a part of the team in spirit. All of that being said, I do think the finale was rushed in some ways and I was left just wanting a little more on an emotional level with a lot of the other characters. I think the Nate redemption somewhat fell flat and I just wanted more between him and Ted. They have a nice moment but it feels short lived. Maybe I'm just being greedy, but overall this finale accomplished what it needed to and I was left properly satisfied.
I'm not ready for this episode.
Brilliant ending but sadly it ended.
Perfect ending if they finish the show here.
I do however really hope they make another season. Such a good show
I'm laughing and crying at the same time.. that was great ending, but I would like to watch more. I miss this show already, especially characters, because they were so special. There isn't other tv show that make you feel so positive like Ted Lasso did :blue_heart::heart:
My God. I will miss these people! Thanks for all the fun!
This season was definitely social media influenced but damn that ending montage brought me to tears.
It wasnt a perfect season, it's tough to build on a show like this but they did us right with these conclusions for this lovely bunch.
amazing last episode. sad the show has finished it's been one of my favourite. great cast and writing. will be missed. well done everyone involved
A great way to end a great show (Ted's story that is). This show was so pure and gave me so much positivity. Loved every moment of it.
There is only one word to describe this show - BELIEVE.
well, it finally happened. did not mind the fan service at all. the last scene gave a huge don’t be sad it’s over, smile because it happened ending.
Just brilliant! Can't believe it's come to an end!
Anybody else think Antony Stewart Head was looking ill? The scene where he's walking down the corridor in the black trench coat, he looked so thin...
I'm guessing this is the end of the line for Ted, even if the show comes back somehow...
I'd really like for him to stay (even if the show were to end here), but if he goes back, at the very least it should be with an offer to coach... Which is funny because since they started talking about the possibility of a spin-off, the most interesting thing that came to mind was Ted coaching the USWNT, but if Jason wants out, at best that could only exist as a way to make it seem he's still growing and taking on new challenges rather than just going back.
I wouldn't like Richmond to win the title this year but it makes sense that they will because it was the reason Ted gave to Henry for staying. It remains to be seen how they'll solve the vacancy issue. Nate has some actual experience managing but it'd be awkward; I don't think Brendan Hunt would leave the show if it continues so Beard is there along with Roy, which makes me wonder if the show could make them all co-managers (unofficially, but de facto).
And then there's that hook for Rupert's comeuppance. I just want the Daily Mail headline about him being a "love rat" and the press making it seem like a big reveal of stuff they were already fully aware of. :joy:
Now this is how you end a series.
Here is my prediction for the finale. Richmond win the league. Ted leaves and moves back to US. Nate takes over as head coach.
A very good finale to a very good series. I pray they don't try to start it back up. Leave it while it is still good.
This episode made me want to jump out of my chair with excitement, and very few television series will make me want to do that! I don't know what I'm going to do now that my favorite show is over :sob::sob:
Series finale. Good closing. We will miss Ted Lasso and the people and fans of the Richmond, not Richard.
I didn’t think I’d cry at the ending of this but here we are. I laughed, I cried, I laughed again.. then the crying just got worse. It was a perfect ending and I’m a lot more upset than I thought I would be. Ce’st la vie and all that..
Everything just came together so nicely. Pro tip for all film/tv directors: Father and Son by Yusuf/Cat Stevens is always the best choice of music for literally everything
Great finale to a series that was nothing like what I was expecting
A absolutely loved this whole show, beautifully written. I’m an emotional wreck now :pray:
I don't know why but it was just not enough for me. i guess it will be never enough for me. I can never say goodbye to Ted and all the other characters. Hard to say goodbye to family but yeah, somehow it has to end. and it was not enough for me. but guess what, I will be a Goldfish and I hope Ted will reintroduce himself all over again. :) Ted Lasso Forever. AFC Richmond Forever.
Leave when you’re on top, and leave big smiles on your way out. Who’s going to be in the spin-off?
I thought the finale was not satisfying.
I think they focused too much on the football result. Then when it happened, they had no time to deal with the character stories.
I think they should have ended the football on the penultimate episode. The finale should have been only on the characters. Many of them we don't know what happened to them. What happened to Keeley, Roy and Jamie for example?
Fantastic season, decent ending, not great.
we have a dream in our hearts RICHMOND RETURNS AS CHAMPION!
If I feel the season as a whole has been building to this episode more, the finale might have been outright great for me. As is, I found it a a satisfying, even very good ending to an extremely uneven season, with the season's most consistent thing is that Nate's arc is egregiously executed from start to finish. And that stonehenge scene is just an ugly green-screened monster. But I loved Ted, Rebecca, and Keeley the whole way this ep, and almost choked up at Rebecca's face when sending Ted off at the airport.
Nice end. I season irregular, but at the end I love the global season. And the 3 seasons. Always with Ted!
hadn't seen so much fan service since bbc's sherlock. and boy, did they fan-serve.
I'm mainly baffled by that airplane seating. What kind of setup is that?!
This was a decent finale. Predictable, saccharine, but still relatively enjoyable.
Overall, I'd say the series declined in quality as it ran on. There were highlights spread throughout, but the show's peak was easily S1. S3's biggest problem is that most of the episodes are far too long. This show began as a 30-minute comedy, and morphed into a 60-minute drama by the end of S2. But the content did not justify their length.

Loved the way they handled the finale.
Bittersweet feelings. I'm gonna miss this show so much.
