[3.6/10] Ughhhh, why more Beast Boy comedy episodes? When does that ever work? And this one is so unbelievably stupid. I don’t know why the keen minds at Teen Titans decided to do their own version of “Doublemeat Palace”, but here we are for some reason.
This is some combination of Soylent Green and your standard secret alien invasion movie. The best you can say for this one is that the writers seem to know this is stupid and play that to the hilt. A sentient cube of alien tofu is trying to use all of Earth’s cows as a food source and replace our meat with...itself...before destroying the planet. Sure, I guess. I don’t want to slate the episode’s plot for not making sense, because it’s deliberately ridiculous, in an Attack of the Killer Tomatoes vein, but it’s also just not entertaining.
MMaking Beast Boy the protagonist for a comedy episode is a recipe for disaster, and while I chuckled as Cyborg’s declaration of “moo-yah!”, everything else here was the sort of broad, dumbed down humor that I hate from Teen Titans. Beast Boy’s series of odd jobs and desire to win a moped elicited no laughs from me, and running gags like Bob’s inability to remember Beast Boy’s name or the “NewFu” cube’s fear of getting eaten wore thin quickly.
Overall, this may be the worst Beast Boy comedy episode yet, which is almost an achievement. There's nothing funny about it, and the premise is moronic without being fun.
