First episode was a hard slog, but it got better as the series progressed. Not bad!
Can't get pass the 1st episode!! This is just pure garbage.
Sadly this is not that 70s show. It just makes very on the nose 2023 jokes and is more disney channel humour than that 70s show humour.
The cameos from the original cast just make you miss the real original gang way more.
The show doesn't feel like it's set in the 90s. Sure the put a computer in the living room, (highly questionable that a technophobe elderly American couple would have a computer and ther internet in 1995) but apart from that the show could basically be set in 2023.
The clothing isn't very 90s, the hairstyles aren't very 90s, and the characters are definitely far too woke for the 90s. Even is this was set in the 00s the characters wouldn't be this woke.
Just set the show in the 90s, with real 90s attitudes and real 90s struggles and fights.
The comedy side of the show falls flat. Even the funniest scenes are just ok at best, nothing from this new cast actually made me properly last.
The writers needs to really think about what made the original show funny but not try to copy and paste that humour but to use it as a vibe check and then actually set it in the 90s. I'm not sure if the writers are too old or too young but either way it doesn't feel like they experienced the 90s as teenagers.
If it wasn't for Red and Kitty Foreman, this show would be a complete miss.
Given this has Netflix money I'm sure they'll be a season 2, something that I'd highly doubt on normal tv, so hopefully the writers will listen to the negative feedback and actually work on the characters and storyline properly
A racially diverse group of 3 angry looking lesbians, a gay guy, a 70s reject & a John Belushi tribute act does not reflect 90s youth.
Only positive about this show, seeing the old cast pop up from time to time. The narrative with this new group of kids, boring characters, very political correct. Save yourself some time, not worth the watch.
I hope Netflix cancel this shit after this season.
Just watched the trailer. This is why people hate Netflix now, and have for the past few years. It's just a Disney Channel children'
s "comedy" with awful attempts at humor and a young cast that acts very very fake thanks to incompetent writing. Even the classic cast are just saying the lines like they're in some bad SNL parody.
It doesn't look '90s, it doesn't feel '90s-- the language, the way people talk, it's all very [Current Year]. I get enough of that now. The filter of time, and nostalgia, and showing historical struggles are all factors in creating a great period piece, and this is anything but.
This is going to suck tremendously. As a 90s kid I'm probably even more disappointed
it's charming and funny, best part is still the past characters showing up - episode one was early my favourite - but hopefully with time the show will find its footing (Netflix please don't cancel this one)
cute if you watched 70s show, some funny bits, some kind dumb but overall a fun watch to reminisce
Well that was disappointing. Bad acting, and crappy characters, missing the natural vibe the original had.
The first episode was underwhelming but I kept going and it grew on me. The cast is likeable except for Gwen who's like this show's Randy. Hoping for a 2nd season.
I enjoyed That 70s Show when it aired but in more recent times, it's a harder rewatch because some of the questionable stuff has gotten downright problematic and Danny Masterson is apparently a terrible person. So I went into this revival kind of nervous... but I really enjoyed it! The few cameos from the previous series were really well done and ... does... does Topher Grace age at all? what the hell, Eric?
In fact, I can say I liked every bit of it EXCEPT this one thing: Why the heck does Leia want to make out with every straight guy when Gwen is a perfect match for her RIGHT THERE! Like, their chemistry was off the charts and she had zilch with the two straight guys.
Painfully unfunny. Utter garbage. Topher Grace is an abysmal actor as well.
There is one similarity with the old show, It didn't long for you to want to punch eric forman in the face!
I want this to be good so bad, I absolutely loved that 70's show!. Sadly it doesn't look that good. Not a fan of this Disney channel looking cast so far. I hope I'm wrong though
That’s no where near what kids in the 90’s were. It’s more like jack ass meets Woodstock ‘99. What they are portraying are the sterilized version of gen z, which is more like a generation that thinks they are a gift from god to the world and are the right arm of the hacker group anonymous. Holding everyone they aim their sights at accountable for anything they can dream up, except themselves or people who deserve it. Don’t forget to cancel yourselves. Can’t tell which generation irritates me more, and I am technically an elder millennial.
Barely got through EP 1… it’s giving nothing
I thought it was pretty good, continuing on with the themes from That 70's Show, and definitely better than the That 80's Show (which isn't saying much). Like the original show, Red and Kitty really steal the show at times. Mace Coronel does a great job as a slightly more savvy version of Ashton Kutcher, and I thought Reyn Doi was great as well. And of course it was great to see Wilmer Valderrama reprise his role as Fez.
The first episode was a bit rough, but the rest was quite enjoyable.
First of all if you are a fan of "That '70s Show" don't watch this garbage. "That '90s Show" only watchable characters are Mr and Mrs Foreman. They still rock.
But the young cast is horrible. Especially the actress who played Leia (Callie Haverda) is beyond horrible. I'm really curious if Callie Haverda is a daughter or granddaughter of an important person. She must have powerful connections to be in this show with lack of talent.
5 minutes in main goal achieved... diverse like fuck
Season 1 review: Overall, an entertaining follow-up to a legendary show that...perhaps doesn't quite live up to the original, but is entertaining enough in its own right for old audiences and new ones.
The old cast in their cameos and main roles are excellent and feel like they really haven't missed a beat since the original show was airing so long ago. Heck, some of them look like they've barely aged a day.
The new cast is likable enough, but my main criticism is that they seem a lot less believable as characters than their predecessors. This is a problem I have with both this show and the ....other "sequel" series to a high-profile sitcom that has been airing for the past few years. Something about the writing and characters just seems...less real.
That being said, this is still a perfectly enjoyable watch. I wouldn't say it is a must-watch, but it certainly is a good time if you have some idle time lying around.
I just finished watching the first season of That 90s Show and I'm very happy. I'm an old That 70s Show fan and for years I've dreamed about this (kind of a sequel) show. The creative people behind this made it out of pure love for the story and its characters. First and foremost, I want to address how amazing Callie Haverda is as Leia Forman. She truly is Donna and Eric's daughter. There are shades of both of them in her, she's the perfect mix. But she also feels like she's still figuring herself out, like many of these "coming of age" stories. The writers pay tribute to the old series with references and cameos from most of the old characters, but also, manage to make these new kids the protagonists of their own stories, with their unique personalities and struggles while growing up in Wisconsin during the 90s. Man, I really enjoyed the cameos. It's like these characters never left. They all feel as if almost 20 years had not ever passed. It's truly a delight to watch Kitty and Red as grandparents. They both are the heart of this show. I just love them! This show is definitely worth watching, it even has references to other famous 90s shows. The series finale is touching and fun, I can't wait for season 2, which has just been announced! Thank you, Netflix. This is an incredible gift for us fans.
This show was actually a really fun surprise. I was afraid it would fail horribly but it grew on me very fast. The show is really truthful to it's predecessor and mixes in the old with the new in a good way. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp form a foundation for the new kids to develop into likable and relatable characters. Callie Haverda is very believable as Eric's and Donna's daughter Leia. She just captures characteristics from both of them in a subtle way. The cameo's are well timed and do not overstay their welcome or outshine the new cast. Happy it's getting a second season.
Show and season rated a 7.3
Very enjoyable! Took some time to get used to the new characters, but ended up liking them all by the end. Red and Kitty are definitely the heart of the series & the sprinkling of OG characters keeps you on your toes. The jokes hit the same & it feels very similar to 70s. Hope there’s a season 2!
Just watched it to see Red. <3
Didn't make it 10 mins. Rubbish.
i'm watching it just because kitty , red and the comeback of the old cast.
i don't like the new kids
It is an excellent continuation of the series that 70 show combines very well .. la historia fluye muy bien bravo por Netflix :clap_tone2: no vallan arruinar la serie
To all the non-watching critics I say:
First rule of the sequel: Thou shalt never succeed in besting the original. A few exceptions proving the rule include Terminator 2 and Aliens.
On the other hand:
In the spirit of the chronological versions of "Memento" and "Pulp Fiction", I wonder how well "That 90's Show: Teenless Version" would be (imagine editing out all of the scenes which does not include an established "That '70 Show" character)...
Just to let everyone know some of the original cast is on this show I’m on episode 6 already I won’t spoil to much since I just watched this yesterday

I haven't watched That 70's Show so I can't say how it compares to this. But so far I'm enjoying this show. It's funny with charming characters. Very cheesy and teen-y but I mean that's kinda the point of this show.
