This week Dave presents the first programme in a two-part special on The Beatles which includes interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Sir George Martin.

With the newly remastered Beatles discography is currently on release, this week 40 years ago, the last album recorded by The Beatles – Abbey Road – was Number 1 in the album charts all over the world. Interspersed with all sorts of studio footage which shows the band recording their albums and promotional video clips.

These two programmes take viewers through the recording of all The Beatles records, concentrating on the progression from album to album, marking the changes and the incredible innovations of The Beatles and their producer George Martin, as they worked together in the studio.
