With this chapter my head has exploded. Can anyone explain to me what that was about at the end?

Oh my god everything in this episode. Wow!
We are living in the golden age of adapting graphic novels to TV shows (Watchmen, The Boys, Preacher...). As powerful and irreverent as they could only be in print before.

Is Dr. Walter Bischop Billy Butcher’s dad?!
Fring for thought!

The ending of this episode stuck with me the entire day, I watched the episode in the morning and my heart was still beating a little fast thinking about it in the evening

Anyone else catching the Church of Scientology references?

Holly shit, the last minute was insane, no one had a clue of anything!
The red wedding and Fring are related to this episode

This show MIGHT have gone from crap to just bad if they had gotten rid of that useless fuckup Hughie.

loading replies

Holy shit the courtroom scene! It was something like the Red Wedding but in the style of The Boys

loading replies

Butcher's backstory falls flat for me. This show isn't art and I am not looking for depth.

This show is absolute BONKERS. It feels like nobody is ever safe. I can only imagine where this is all leading.

But am I the only one who finds Billy Butcher more grating than charming? I’m really trying to like him, but he makes it difficult with his incessant brooding, recklessness, and sarcasm. I knows he’s supposed to be “badass,” but... I dunno... just not feeling it.

And HOW did Starlight ever get into The Seven? She never seems to stand a chance against anyone. I love her character, so I’m hoping they give her (and her powers) a moment to shine.

Black Noir vs. Almond Joy = Priceless.

Also... I see you Walter Bishop. ;-)

Hate that Black Noir is just Mr Edgar’s killing machine! I wanna get to know him! Like what’s his deal? And it looks like he hasn’t healed completely from this season’s first episode

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
PLEASE STAND BY

Hahahahahaha! C'mon now, people. Let's not lose our heads.

  • Butcher driving over the grass at Dr. Vogelbaum's house is so in character
  • The obvious answer as to who is behind all the head popping is Cindy but it could be a misdirection? Is the church involved?
loading replies

Well I liked Candlestick man.
Anyone else who's getting annoyed by Black Noir though? He's like the silent agoniser in the show who's just there to fuck things up or kill people, but has absolutely zero personality.
Elena is fucking weak. Maeve deserves someone so much better.

I really need an a-day-in-the-life episode for Ashley the Vought publicist. “This is not lesbian, this is not on brand!”

loading replies

Several things of the episode have left me open-mouthed. Now to wait until Friday to see how the season ends

loading replies

Not the greatest The Boys episode, esp. not Season 2's good. They have come this far to plan and strategize against Vought, yet they don't seem to have any backup plan... not with Lamplighter, who they leave only with Hughie to babysit, and especially not with Dr. Vogelbaum, the man behind all these, the most important man who should have acted as key witness? With Lamplighter, okay, they missed their chance, but Butcher and Mallory could have at least made Vogelbaum recorded his confession or some sort since they should have known that sending him off means an extremely high risk of failure. And they freaking knew there's someone out there who can pop head out of nowhere. Why don't they take any precaution?

The one scene with Hughie and Lamplighter is kind of dumb too, only showing him as ever petulant bystander who can't prioritize - which is a step down of character development since he blew Transluscent's ass. Butcher family drama seems to give a hint of character development but the pacing is too convenient as a cop out for stuff to fall apart.

Good. Becca you idiot, you deserve that shit. What the hell did you think was going to happen?

loading replies

Mediocre episode that keeps walking the narrow line between being woke and anti-woke which remains interesting. Certain changes from the comics however make me fear this will go into a certain direction and the mention of Pewdiepie by our lovable Stormfront can't be but intentional.... And pretty lame.

As for the final few minutes: sure, shocker but that shouldn't be the reason the episode is deemed GREAT. Especially since what happened before was a lot of "sad sad men" scenes and nothing much else.

This was a rather dull episode as far as The Boys goes. It had an explosive ending but that's about it. As always it's a pleasure to see John Noble but his tough accent was a bit weak less subtle than his normal work. But we're probably not going to see a lot of him anyway. Shame because his acting itself was fine.

loading replies

It's ironic how after Hughie's and Lamplighter's talk about cucks, Hughie used him like a cuck to save his girlfriend. Then, we have Mallory's talk with M.M. about the macho self-sacrificing bullshit and, stereotypically, Lamplighter followed the redemption-equals-death trope. Hughie mutilating Lamplighter's crispy corpse was like the show pissing on his sacrifice and this tired masculine trope. Very ballsy satire.
Butcher confronting his abusive father and Homelander confronting Rebecca were the other good parts of the episode.

This is getting really boring....

loading replies

Mindblowing (eeerg). That last minute is red wedding of The Boys! T O T A L L Y E P I C ! ...and of course that ending music R O F L ! Shame they couldn't afford more money for Shawn Ashmore.
By the way guys, i'm %100 with Homelander about his son. Becca just doing same shit as she says opposite, Homelander became that because they always lied to him, now Becca is same kind of idiot. Just kill her Homelander, moron. Willy you deserve more than that idiot woman.

loading replies

I know it's a cool effect, but someone in production must LOVE that pimple poppin' thingy.

loading replies

I know, I know, the last scene. But just want to say that Karl Urban was fucking dynamite this ep.

loading replies

Well, shit. They don't call this show mindblowing for nothing.

loading replies

The way this show has to keep upping it's violence and gore level, from giant whale innards to multiple heads exploding like a harmony, to keep surprising the audience is...entertaining af

As Butcher would say, “Fuckin Diabolical!”
Even Homelander was clueless when everyone started exploding haha

Jesus Christ!! That last minute :joy:. Just.... holy sh*t. Great episode.
