This is a highly addictive series, with some great cast, interesting storyline and even some humor. I also appreciate the character development of Saga. The writers did a tremendous job.

Great show, together with The Killing the best Nordic series
Overall that's a very good show. Very high quality. Amazing that such small countries were able to pull this off. It's a miracle that this dark and depressing show was ever allowed to be aired. Never ever have you seen such a show produced in Hollywood. It's all very well crafted, produced and written. I personally think it's a bit too dark (give me just a little bit of hygge but that's just my personal feeling [I don't like horror movies either]) and the plots are sometimes too ambitious [the crimes too monstrous] and seasoned with too much red herrings to really enjoy them. I'm not sure I understood every sub-plot and how it's related to the main case. And whenever there was a plot hole to fill (that can't be filled with one of those hard to believe coincidences), idleness to overcome, the next episode to advertise and keep tension high, the writers decided to kill a few more people. Is that really necessary or good story telling if that's a recurring element? Kudos to Sofia Helin. She made Saga Norén truly one of the most memorable characters ever featured on TV.
As the new season (third season) started I had very strong doubts if this show could bounce back from the not so good season 2 and departure of Kim. It did, with flying colors.
I'm through series 1 yet. Sonia Helin created some quite character, she is tremendous, beside her all actors did a very good job.
I liked the setting very much: one big case spread over an entire series. Reminds me of 'The Killing' which was also extraordinaire.

So I just started watching season 4 – dramatic pause – and I realized – another dramatic pause – I have no recollection at all of the previous seasons. So I stopped watching.
Loved this programme. Completely worth the subtitles, beautifully shot and acted. A brilliant show.

I see that the show is noted as ended, that is however not correct. Season two is starting September 22nd on Swedish television.

The Americanized version doesn't compare to the original. Subtitles are totally worth the effort -- well suited for viewing on a mobile device, something about a smaller screen makes the subtitle reading less of a distraction. Excellent!
