it's interesting to watch the steady decline of the chaser; one of the finest comedy groups in australian tv. first there was the hamster wheel which did actually have occasional moments of brilliance. following was the unbelievable truth, which was a pathetic attempt at a gameshow. and finally the checkout, which is basically the kind of programme that the original war on everything served to ridicule. i figured perhaps with a group of talented people such as the chaser in charge, maybe a consumer affairs show would work? but unsurprisingly, it's about as misinformed and pathetic as their rivals such as today tonight, current affair etc. just sad really.
