This was a surprising find. It's comes from New Zealand (the same country that made all 27 Lord of the Rings movies) but was obviously made on very low budget. But I enjoyed the story a surprising amount...it just felt...engaging....
I will admit that the first half of the last episode left me wondering, and without spoiling it, I will say that episode 6 improved dramatically toward the end.
Overall, it's a lightweight bit of enjoyable teen focused home made science fiction tv. It was good.
By the way, you can view it online at https://www.tvnz.co.nz/ondemand/the-cul-de-sac. I think you should.
