I absolutely love the terrain of Thra. It is so incredibly beautiful. And the puppets and design are top notch. Everything I could hope for from Henson's Creature Shop. The visual presentation is perfect.
Even the voices of the Skesis are reminiscent of the originals. The Chamberlain has been my favorite since I was a kid and Simon Pegg nails the character. The voice, the inflection; everything is spot on.
The story is a little slow, but the world building is wonderful and grandiose.
Thiis is a re-telling of Der ewige Jude with Jim Henson puppets. Had the original used puppets it might not have been banned.
This was an incredibly BEAUTIFUL first episode, also felt so anxious for all the gelfling... o
Stunning visuals and amazing production throughout. But it's not only for the eye as the story looks very promising as well.
As one who saw the original Dark Crystal in the theaters as a kid, this is a breath of fresh air on all fronts. From visuals to story to masterful puppetry to score, it is a beautiful and gorgeous world and achievement for Jim Henson's legacy and Netflix. They don't make things like this anymore and it is a delight to see. You can see the cost spent up on the screen. I hope they keep making this for years to come. Brilliant. You cannot find anything wrong with this program.
I liked how many conversations you can have simply with “hmmmmmmmmm” - “hmmm!!” - “hmm...hmm!”, and “yeeeeeessssss”. Highly enjoyable, yessssss?
This prequel series makes me want to check out the movie again. I grew up with it, yet never really got into the movie.
I always found the original puppets creepy looking or ugly. I just know they didn’t appeal to me. Everything looks spectacular in this series though.
The story pulls you in right away as well.

There are points here where I completely forgot I was watching puppets. Incredibly high artistry just as in the original film. Mission accomplished.
