It's kind of sad how much this show has fallen in my opinion since its very impressive first season. The story has gotten stale, they've become more concern with ticking boxes for the fandom instead of actually progressing the story in any meaningful way. Characters seem to be going in circles especially in regards to Claudia and Viren. The story of a kid king is also frustrating annoying as it simplifies the story removing the depth that could have present in the story as now its just choose peace instead of hate which is not a topic that the writers of this show have proven that they can handle past surface level ideology. What has always been the saving grace of this show even in its worst moments has been Callum and Rayla as their chemistry and story seems to be the strongest aspect of the show and when we have to focus on the kingdom and war story the show suffers for it with a mish mash of cardboard characters and muddled ideals that after three seasons still haven't reached the point of captivating the way its supposed to be which in turn affects the stakes of the overall show. Even removing Ezran from Callum and Rayla has made his character one-note in his choose peace approach. In the end, The Dragon Prince is a netflix show for better or worse with more focus on appeasing fandoms and twitter instead of creating captivating story.
