But it's true, Queen Latifah, as much as I like her, doesn't fit.
I like that the main role is played by a strong woman of colour, unlike the original typical white male.
And not your typical Hollywood svelte model either.
Production values feel a little lacking, hopefully that will improve beyond the pilot!

What can I say... like the new Macgyver it lost the "je ne sais quoi" that made The Equalizer movies so great. I sure they'll try to push it for as many seasons as they can... but honestly... come on!!! Stop spoiling good stories with tv shows that have nothing to do with the original.

Don't know if it's because I'm nostalgic but I'm liking it so far.
I'm in for the season. The Equalizer is not what I would call groundbreaking or fresh in any way, but the idea of an Equalizer appeals to me. Though...I'm not sure about Queen Latifah as the lead just yet. She's a good actress, so I bet she will fit right in no time.
I do, however really like the old TV-Series ( which I really need to track down to watch again), and the change from a white male McCall to a black lady McCall will take some getting used to.
...and yes...I know about the movies and Denzel's McCall, but a movie is not a TV-series. To me, a movie and a TV-series are two very different things. In a TV-series, you can have more character development and long story arcs than what you can have in a movie. Don't get me wrong though...I like the movies just fine.

The action is good, but at least for me the bar was very high, the main actress tries too hard to look like a tough cop and at the same time cool, added to the action scenes that really do not fit the actress ... I don't know, The series is acceptable but together with the cast of actors it does not quite convince, it lacks much to my liking for what I expected after the movies, Denzel Washington made an incredible character that unfortunately is impossible to match therefore the series would have a good time if did not have that title. On the other hand it is kind of annoying when they try to put people with skills from another world and they say oh if I can hack the fbi in 1 min ... it is another serious more like mcgiver ... they took something that was good and at least with the same name DOES NOT WORK.
Call me crazy, but I like it. Never saw the original show or the movies so I have nothing to compare it to.

I can't believe this show is still running. It's sad when these sorts of bleh shows last years and years but excellent shows are canceled.
I don't dislike the show, but it's not very good. I somewhat like the relationships with the characters but any real plot doesn't exist. Stuff just happens every episode with very little connection to others.
I'll watch it in the background while doing other tasks like exercising or cooking. You don't have to pay close attention, fighting shooting new episode repeat.

Yay! So glad it's been renewed. This is a really good reboot. It just kinda sucks that season 1 ended with ... the daughter finding out who her mother really is and we have to wait till next season to see how things play out there.

I wouldn't call this show The Equalizer. Don't get me wrong, its good show by itself. Cast is right for the storyline etc. However it got little to no common ground with the original show. Please don't try and piggyback on the success of an old show. Simply to try and boost the ratings... perhaps we could bring back M.A.S.H (2021) or the Golden Girls (2021)... joy!
Go first episode, actually a new show where I am looking forward to the next and see how it develops. Wasn’t sure how she’d do but it was great and I like the other characters too, some of my favs from other shows put all together.

I think it's a combination of a actor not being suitable for a role and bad direction.
The first season was bad but not terrible and I thought there would not be a season 2 but when I heard there would be I thought they would've been improvement but not it just got worst. Please, stop it now.
