Can I just say I like the flash better WITH a crossover, especially from Supergirl but the Arrow is fine too (I really like felicity, so let's see what happens here, I remember in the early days I shipped Felicity and Barry haha). I absolutely love how the show Supergirl is actually focused on problems in this world, especially LGBT+ community things. Having a trans woman being a superhero is hella awesome. You can hate me, the show Supergirl, and women all you want, but this makes me happy. (if it makes you unhappy that people get happy about this, question yourself lol).
I gotta say the plot is kinda odd, but I'll give it a shot, let's see what happens.
nah not again a stupid crossover, and I'm forced to watch arrow and supergirl :-/
Who said Legends wasn't gonna be in the Crossover? The writers were and I'm not complaining. I guess it's true what they say about time and fun. Time does fly up when you're having fun. I don't know about the rest but crossovers get me life. I was pretty mush screaming during the whole episode, which felt like 5 minutes btw.
Crossovers are the kind of episode where I find so much happiness inside of me that I can't control it. Let's wait until this is over but so far, the episode was so good and so much fun.
If there's one thing I'm a bit pissed off with is that they didn't change the intro. If you are willing to embrace the meme. You might as well fully embrace it. It should've gone like "My name is Oliver Queen and ever since I got up this morning in Iris' bed (weird) I'm the fastest man alive". I feel like that was a missed opportunity.
I got the feelings that the Flash writers got into a bet with the Legends writers to see who could create the weirdest episode. And damn, this whole episode felt like a meme. "You have failed this city", "Hallway talk", "Nantes. Courtesy of Ray Palmer" (I almost died laughing with that one), the toilet in the cell. They fully embrace comedy.
The show went full self-awareness and you know what's the best part? That they didn't even care. At some point, it reached Legends level of comedy.
If there's one thing that I loved, besides one-liners (I'll go there in just a sec) was acting. Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell are unbelievably good. Jesus, seeing and edgy and moody Barry in contrast with a happy Oliver was one of the weirdest things I'll ever see. I loved Oliver-Barry giving a thumbs-up to Barry and having a big-ass smile. And Barry all "We got lucky". Seriously, that was way too good. These two guys have great chemistry and I just love seeing them working together. If you ask me, they should appear in each other's show more often.
Now, let's go to the one-liners. They were on point tonight. I particularly enjoyed the "man up and dislocate your thumb". Something about the delivery made me laugh so much. And then the thumb was all flaccid and weird, argh. I loved how Oliver me fun of it.
I love how everone's reaction to something weird happening refers to a variant of the same incident: "Barry, what have you done this time". Well, that and Caitlin's sudden "Barry, did you time travel again?" Those almost made me spill my drink.
I loved how Monitor told John to "think big" and the first thing we see is Iris making perfect pancakes. I mean, hello? Something must be really wrong with the timeline if Iris isn't making you a banana!
Also, Oliver was pretty lame with the excuses at the beginning "I...did not get enough sleep" and that face. Poor Barry-Ollie. Or is it Ollie-Barry? I'm getting confused.
I also loved that Ollie's first reaction when facing a bad guy being the Flash was "You have failed this city". Lol, it was so sudden and unexpected. Jesus, that was crazy. Do you guys remember Arrow's intro? Especifically the part "I need to become someone else. Something else". Well, guess what? He indeed became something else.
While Ollie was being Ollie, Barry was having so much fun being the Green Arrow it was actually hilarious. I loved the end when he became aware that Ollie being him meant sleeping with Iris.
"You woke up in bed with Iris?"
nods head
"WE NEED TO FIX THIS RIGHT NOW "
I loved that Ollie's first reaction to being the Flash was asking himself what the hell did Barry do, and that Barry's first reaction was "I'm the Green Arrow. Holy crap!" Also, his "Do I need help putting this on?" had me in stitches. Like, Barry, that's a suit for God's sake, just put it on. I wonder what would've happened if he switched with Curtis. He'd definitely be asking for someone to braid his hair, only to reveal at the end that it's a wig.
The hallway joke. What the hell was this episode, seriously? It felt like the fans had written the script and wanted to throw in as many weird references as they possibly could. I loved it, btw.
I love that after 5 seasons of the Flash the toilet plothole finally got addressed. There was a moment where I couldn't believe what I just saw.
Oliver getting checked to see if everything was in order and asking if he had a brain tumor or something... Lol, the hell has this show even become?
Maybe it's just me, but I found it a bit far-fetched that Team Flash didn't believe them. They've been through weirder stuff so something tells me they should known better.
If there was one exchange that I loved was when Barry and Oliver met Superman. I couldn't believe Oliver would, first, puff his chest in the presence of someone else (like that's even necessary) and two, admit it. Must be the whole Book of Destiny thing that's actually affecting his brain, or disabling his speed, lol.
"Are you puffing out your chest?"
"Yes". I seriously can't. I can't even...
Having Barry and Oliver training and Barry throwing hit an arrow only to back stab him with that back stabbing thing was glorious, especially Barry's reaction. He looked like a kid in the park.
Another thing... Smallville's theme plating and I almost die of happiness. Geek level has crashed the ceiling and is elevating until infinity and beyond. That, combined with Superman's shirt being pulled apart has made my life to be fulfilled. Question here, does Clark always wear his suit under his clothes? And if so, why does he even wear it when he's chilling out with Lois and Kara at the family's farm? I don't even know why but I still love it.
"You can't even go 9 hours without a sappy motivational speech". You've been Ollied. I got to agree with Oliver on that one. Also, Barry answer about Felicity inventing "quarterbacking" was great.
When they casually threw the words "Ivo", "Amazo" and "Mirakuru" in the same sentence I wondered if I was watching The Flash or Season 2 of Arrow.
I just have a couple of questions. Where the hell was Nora? I guess she'll be still in 2048 with Eobard but still, she's a speedster so she could literally go back in time to the same minute that she left. I wanted her to hug Oliver and call him dad. Missed opportunity. Also, if Oliver now doesn't wear a mask, why was Barry wearing it?
I can't wait for Batwoman and Gotham. I'm so excited that even my goosebumps have goosebumps. I tend to get very excited when it comes to crossover season but I'm just as excited as I've ever been.
Up to this point, I'm honestly going to rewatch the three episodes back-to-back once the crossover ends.
Remember Oliver's fantastic line last crossover that made us all laugh? That "Superspeed. I don't have it". Well, well, well, have the tables turned. Now it must be "Remember. Superspeed. I do have it"
When I heard the Smallville theme song, I was HOPING at least Tom Welling would be in it.
Oh man, this was great. So giddy for so many stupid reasons.
Some notes:
- I don't watch Supergirl unless it's crossover stuff but... since when is Superman and her besties. Don't like Lois Lane one bit... was she always this cocky? So Smallville (the themesong apparently) was the past in this world and thus part of the Arrowverse?
- So they're going to Gotham.... Oh but it's not Gotham Gotham... So no surreal and insane shit, no Penguin, no Fish, no Gorden and his crazy exwife turned Raj-Al-Gul... So confusing!
- Flash suit looks even more like a worn condom on Oliver.
All of the toys are out of the toy chest in this one. After a weak and awkward beginning, this one found its footing a bit and even had a fair amount of humor, much of it at Oliver's expense. Next stop: Gotham City!
Ahaha Oliver and Iris together are hilarious, I remember her saying he was on her 'three list.' Still, though, you'd think the two of them would be able to convince the others that they're telling the truth just by what they know? Even if it was some sort of psychosis they would not have the memories of the other person, and while they're good friends and know a lot about each other, just their conversation in the prison cell should be convincing enough. Why didn't Barry talk to Iris much sooner instead of having Oliver do it?
Plus, why was the robot able to replicate the Kryptonians' powers - they're not meta-humans and their powers are solar-based, but the robot does not have any actual cells that could be stimulated by sunlight (and it was night, anyway).
Anyway, cross-overs are always amazing, and while I'm disappointed the Legends aren't joining this time, and it felt like the body-swap gimmick wore off a bit too quickly, I'm very much looking forward to Batwoman.
Plot hole number 1 Superman and Supergirl are not meta humans how did the robot copy their powers?
but overall it was a surprising and entertaining twist
Anyone else feeling a smallville marathon after that scene on the Kent farm?
I guess I'm one of the few ones that don't like the crossovers at all.
Totally loving the character development.
It could be so much better without this supergirl bullshit. That series is the worst I have ever seen, it makes everything so much worse. And the missinformed political propaganda in supergirl, that women makes less because sexism got debunked 1000 times and they still going with it. Why?? End supergirl!
When I heard the Smallville soundtrack I got so happy and they ruined it.
Something about Barry being Oliver and Oliver being Barry
Why do they always have to make Superman sound weak, though. In an episode of Supergirl he multiple times walked around saying how Supergirl was stronger and better than him, and here he is saying they didn’t even need him… it’s fucking Superman, put some respect to his name.
Fk these damb crossover bullshit
Grant gustin looks dope asf as green arrow
I absolutely love this episode. I laughed so much. Barry getting revenge at Oliver, being all dark with you failed this city. Oliver trying to be cheery, Kent's farm.
Part 1 - The Flash S05E09
Part 2 - Arrow S07E09
Part 3 - Supergirl S04E09
We watch this episode by being part of the crossover
Best part of the crossover
This had some interesting potential, but the misuse of The Monitor (Why is he carrying the Book of Destiny around?) and the telegraphing of something that happens in Part 3 was far too obvious. I did like the nod to Smallville, though.
When i heard the smallville music i thought i was gunna get to see tom welling as clark kent but was let down D:
Oliver does not look so bad in Barry's suit.
I thought it was funny, especially when arrow / flash flinched from the bullets
Remy Zero with a shot of the Kent farm. Lol. Nice homage. So first part of the crossover was okay. As okay as can be in the arrow/flash universe when I'm forced to watch them again. Didn't really get the Lois casting choice tbh. Not feeling it.
And on the subject of bad casting... that final shot. Jfc, how could I forget they would be doing Batwoman. Sigh. Let's see how badly they can butcher an awesome chacter in part 2...
Oh. Man. This was bad. The costumes looked like cheap Halloween stuff from Spirit. The Book of Death or whatever looked like it was from Chucky Cheese. The CGI of the Ultron knockoff robot was terrible, like I know college kids that could have done better in a few days or less. Clark Kent looked like the dad (Ty Burrell) from Modern Family, and I couldn't get past that. The main actors of the 3 shows did a good job, but lord I'll be excited for this crossover to be done.
Weird how the episode is flowing so well and the moment we go into into Earth-38 we're hit over the head with the pay gap and Trump within the 2 minute mark. Good to see I wasn't wrong about dropping Supergirl.
Crazy dumb story ever... The robot is supposed to copy meta abilities and what ??? He is copying alien abilities too... sorry but I'm lost...
Iris and friends are annoying in this one. But the sidekicks usually are overused and annoying in the crossovers.
For one finding it not believeable that Barry and Oliver switched bodies. Especially with how much they have been through.
Definitely nice to hear the Smallville theme song when Clark and Kara are at the farm though.

I'm typically hard on The Flash series, but i really enjoyed the crossover.
