Alicia is now everything she hated in Peter, all the character development (especially after the death of Will) has led to this horrible, liar, cheater, betrayer... I'm glad that the show was real and didn't give us an ending that would satisfy us just because, it gave us REAL character development and a REAL ending.
What the fuck did the writers think? the opposite of a happy ending: Alicia ends up ruining most of her friendships for helping out the flawed human being and prick of a husband she has. Good riddance.
Damn! Diane slapping Alicia on the face was one of the best scenes of the whole show! Just like a mother straightening up her toddler... Alicia sure had been asking for it for a while. I definitely enjoyed that bitter ending (as opposed to the cliché of a sugary sweet happy ending). Still, after two subpar seasons, the show didn't quite manage to end on a higher note (except for the slap scene — though, ironically, the need for such a scene already shows how much The Good Wife has been deteriorating for a while).
A special shout out to Will's "resurrection", I think that was a lovely addition to the finale, a genuine emotional highlight of the episode, like a luscious bowtie hugging a lackluster gift box. The show really wasn't the same anymore, without him.
But the best thing about this show ending was that the Kings moved on to making the splendid and absolutely irresistible, one season wonder, BrainDead.
All in all, this was a rather modest and somewhat unmemorable farewell to what quickly became my favourite law show of all time (so far).
Oh, The Good Wife, it really is time to go. True, You will be missed but the run of mediocre episodes during that last season makes it a lot easier to say goodbye.
This has to be up there as one of the worst finales to a show. It's like they took the worst parts and worst storylines from the show and amplified them. Very very disappointing.
The whole writing team deserved a slap.
Well... now is over.
This was rare.
I loved to see Will.
He was so awesome. I missed him.
Jason was such an adorable character.
Lucca I loved every minute you were in this show.
Cary was a nice guy with such a bad luck.
I wish Kalinda was still there.
Diane... what an amazing and powerful woman you were.
Eli... I will miss your crazy ideas.
Alicia... you change so much.
From the good and innocent wife you became this new person.
I always wish your happiness, but well... this was a different way to say goodbye.
I will miss this show.
I am very sad that this show is over. However, it doesn't change the fact that this was a very bad developed season -- and the finale is not an exception. It'll be missed. Goodbye...
Fantastic episode, I'm happy with the ending of this phenomenal show. Acting was great and plot captivating, as usual. Highly emotional with the appearance of Will!
End... What was that? Really?
Well... That was a lot shit..
This... was a weird series finale. I don't get the hate for Alicia, I think she has been a very entertaining lead character, severely flawed, but never not raw and real. This finale mirrors the first season, with Alicia sacrificing herself and her happiness for Peter and in that way is a more bittersweet mid-point than a full disclosure on anything - I thought that with a title like "End", this episode would show closure to most characters in a very typical "finale" way, but instead we get burnt bridges and not a realization of anything, Alicia did not end up with Jason, she pushed Diane too far to save a man she didn't love anymore and ended up with that sour taste in her mouth of sadness and a sense of "Who am I now?" and that is also another curveball this show threw at us, there was no closure to the drama, no rendention to the characters.... just their lives cut short. Season 7 wasn't on par with that came before because I felt it sort of went into circles that didn't lead us nowhere, but was stll entertaining as a showcase of flawed characters and more poingnant drama inside a legal template - Alicia's character development backslided as she entered into a self-destructive way of living and we'll never be able to witness if she climbed up again or not and that's... ok? Her choices still made sense within the mindset she was on upon everything that happened (her firm abandoning her, the further distancing from Peter, Will's death, etc) and she had consequences to these reckless choices, some were justifiable (her "cheating") and some weren't (her betrayal to Diane) but that showed to us how confusing and flawed Alicia is and not the "Saint Alicia" myth, funnily enough that burden might made more damage to her state of mind than she thinks. She remained my favorite character all the way through the show and for a main character to maintain truth to themselves and entertaining in a long like this is quite a feat.
"End" is not an end, but rather a "This is where we are leaving the characters"
They definitely cud have worked alot harder on the ending
Binge watched many many episodes and loved it for the most part, but it was time to end. It was perhaps even one season too many? Disappointed by the ending, but then I suppose she was never going to "ride off into the sunset". At least we didn't have a Bobby moment with Will stepping out of the shower.
I'm kind of glad it's over? I mean, you start the show off by rooting for the main character but especially this last season she's been getting on my last nerve. I liked the others fine, but Alicia was a disappointment. Still, it was nice seeing Will.
Series finale, has not convinced me. The mirror 1x01 curious scene. T7 has been more loose
Farewell, one of the best TV series, "in my opinion". Huge huge characters and actors.
Best show on adult programming just ended. Loved every moment of it, the characters, the story, the energy. It will be truly missed.
The whole writing team deserved a slap.

I've never been so happy to see someone get slapped in my life. Frankly I've been waiting on that moment for years! As this series evolved Alicia slowly became everything she hated about Peter (a liar, a conniver, and a cheater) which was why she slapped him in the pilot, so hopefully Diane's slap brought her back to her senses and she returns to being the Alicia from the first few seasons that we loved. I'll assume that's what she was thinking as she walked away. Does this mean Diane is The Good Wife now? Also, if they wanted to parallel the pilot, they should have made Peter go to jail again because he deserved it.
