In the Hungry Sailors, Celebrity Masterchef finalist, engineer, grower and sailor Dick Strawbridge and his sailing son James will board a double masted schooner to explore the food of Britain’s coastal towns. Aided by a small tender that allows them access rivers feeding down to the coast, Dick and James will meet the chefs, home cooks, fishermen, producers and foragers who make a trip to the seaside such a memorable eating experience. Their two-masted schooner will sail at a leisurely pace, taking in the wildlife, scenery and personalities that add to coastal life. Lobster fishermen, scallop divers, kids catching crabs, samphire foragers all contribute to the illustrious life of a coastal town... not to mention the best fish and chips, perfect ice cream and delicious crab cakes on offer too! In each show the duo will have the challenge of cooking a difficult meal aboard to be tasted and judged by those willing to put their hands in their pockets. Will they impress their new seaside pals?
