After a period of unprecedented change in the very fabric of Irish society which has brought all the old characteristics and stereotypes into question, the series asks who are we now? What have we become and what is the future for Ireland and the Irish in an increasingly globalised world? Filming from Boston to Beijing, from Brussels to Johannesburg, as well as throughout Ireland, the series provides a survey and an interpretation of the international impact that is being made by Irish men and women – many unknown to the Irish public – in the fields of arts, business, economics, engineering, philosophy, life sciences, medicine, law and the public service.
