Yeah well, not bad. There a lot of inconsistencies to that period of time and Sherlock/Watson/the bakerstreet boys, but maybe that's because of the Netflix wokeness. Was the term "clone" common in 18xx? Anyway, I watched the first two episodes and it's interesting enough to keep me watching.
Too predictable to really enjoy it. Another filler show from Netflix.
Alienest + Scooby Doo with Constantine style horror elements. Oh and Sherlock Holmes is a crackhead now.
it was an excellent show. Bring it back! it can't end the way it did even if it was somewhat of an ending, as opposed to a cliffhanger that would've been a travesty.
What an absolute shame to end such a show especially one with substance, quality & actual potential. Yet they keep renewing the frivolous crappy brainless shit. Another network should aquire it if Netflix doesn't bring it back. the potential story lines are amazing as well as infinite, the actors were great! not to mention how they managed to have different races blended in so seemlessly as if it never mattered, as the real world could & should be, that was really special. just getting to see how that worked so well was a treat.
By the way, it's still worth watching even if the ending will break your heart. I don't understand the negative comments, unless this universe makes their racist bones uncomfortable? or is that universe too complicated for purists in their little unimaginative boxes? anyway, to each their own.
All in all fantastic. story line keeps you thinking acting is fantastic well worth another season. cant believe this has had such a bad rap!
It was a slow beginning to adjust to this world and unwind it from the iconic types of 221b but by the end of the series I was well and truly hooked. I was sorry to see it was cancelled but, in a way, it was a fitting one season series. The overt occult horror always gives me pause, especially aimed at teens. It is nothing to be played with or encouraged. But, the clear definitions of good and evil, the heroic values, and the sub themes of self sacrifice and compassion were real hooks for me. It has all the period authenticity of British drama and the writing was good. I shall miss the characters this young cast so brilliantly brought to life. I give this series an 8 (very good) out of 10. [Young Adult Pseudo Historical Fantasy Drama]
My wife and I watched this with our 14 yo grandson. It was easy viewing, had interesting characters and the storyline was just fine (despite a few naysayers in the comments). There was enough action to keep our grandson interested and he got invested in the characters to the extent he had a favourite. Worth a watch.
I really enjoyed this series. Great characters, very interesting story line and well acted. It's not all about Sherlock, lots more to the show. Well worth a watch. :thumbsup_tone1::thumbsup_tone1:
I really enjoyed myself. The characters are well-developped and endearing, and there was a pretty good redemption arc too. The world-building is pretty well done while not being too flashy or unrealistic. That said it definitely does not look like historic victorian London though.
The series could have been 1 or 2 episodes longer if they decided to give a bit more explanations about the rip, the rules and the world behind it. But it was good enough as is.
The appearance of Sherlock Holmes characters as supporting characters was a surprise to me as I never heard of the Baker Street books by Conan Doyle. I enjoyed what the show did with them. Their take on Sherlock and John Watson was very unexpected, and the twist on their usual personalities was well done in my opinion, not expected and well rounded. The story is centered more around the 5 teens, which makes Sherlock and Watson side characters, but their character traits were quite far from what is more usual.
The last episode was nice and quite moving.
I would watch a second season, but i appreciate the fact that there were no season finale cliffhangers, especially now that we know how much Netflix is prone to cancel good underrated shows after their first season.
It’s all so damned cliche. Some episodes are enjoyable, a drugs addicted Sherlock is nice. OK to kill time, but not more.
When you’ve spent a lifetime fighting demons, you get to learn how to spot an angel.

Moderately interesting series, the overt wokeness tends to break any feeling of historical reality and defeats whatever period work was put into the setting and script.
That said the actors do an adequate job and the script is decent. It offered enough to keep me watching.
Wish it had been done a little more seriously and gritty. I doubt it's good enough to get renewed.
I did watch the whole show in one sitting, so it's definitely worth binging. The premise of the show is good and clever in the way they used the Sherlock characters.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Ok... so, I didn't know anything about this series, I just happened to open Netflix and saw this series and at the moment I saw "Sherlock Holmes" in the synopsis, I clicked play and now few hours later I went through all 8 episodes...
Without spoiling the story more than what the synopsis says, there's a reason why this show isn't called Sherlock something, they simply used the characters created by Doyle as a backstory setting. They could have made a whole story from scratch and it would still have worked, but using known characters make it feel as if you are more familiar with the whole setup and yet it also feel new.

I'm trying to understand why these shows are being produced. I understand Netflix is trying to capture a younger audience, using modern music with historic settings. But please, can Netflix also invest into a better script!
