Netflix already pulled whodunnit The Killing from the scrap pile once, working out a deal with AMC to produce a third season for airing and subsequent streaming, and now it's done it again. The Killing will see a fourth and final six-episode season (when is still up in the air), produced by Fox, which Netflix will stream exclusively in the areas where it provides service.

After a few years, I actually re-watched it from start to finish. Season 1 + 2, there were lengths (maybe I wouldn't have been so captivated if I had to wait a week between episodes). 3 and 4 were kind of different, but surprisingly great. The last ep was just great, that's how you end a TV series!
One of the few American versions of a foreign series that knocks it out of the park. Haunting.

Season one and two were great. Kind of slow and dragging at times but still good. The fact that all of the characters introduced in the season were somehow connected, made the story even better. Terry drove the car into the lake was heartbreaking.
Season three was decent. The whole Pied Piper wasn't that interesting. The teenagers were very annoying, whiny and stupid. Finding out it was Skinner, and that he actively put a man on death row for a crime he committed himself was horrifying. Then Lyndon loses her mind and kills him, which was unnecessary but then they decide to dump the body and go against all logic that must tell them, as detectives. Killing another cop probably could have derailed their careers somewhat, even if it turned out he was a serial killer. But still...
Season four - the military/murder story line was weak.
There was some suspension of disbelief necessary, but I enjoyed the characters enough to make up for it. The chemistry between Linden and Holder is one of the central points of the whole show.

Another high praised show I could get nothing out of. The title is fitting from where I stand because the show literally killed itself. It started as a promising crime drama which turned into a political thriller that wasn´t really thrilling but instead used every cliché there is. On the plus side there is the production because this doesn´t have the flashy look of the american tv show which gives it more credebility and realism. But the plot get´s turned and twisted so many times that they squeezed the life out of it. Although the conclusion at the season two finale was good I already lost interest to care about it any more. And there wasn´t a single character I had any sympathy or cared for. I could not bring myself to watch further then season two.
Loved s1-s2. S3 was less great, but still watchable.
The Killing terminou como uma série muito boa, desde a season 1 a série sempre foi muito envolvente.
Didn't expect very much but actually got quite engaged. Very good storytelling.
People do seem to like it but I kind of find it boring.
I love the show, I want more!
Esto no llena las expectativas, parece que se inventaran los puntos de quiebre sobre la marcha. Los personajes no tienes consistencia. Pero, fuck, esas benditas artimañas que te obligan a ver las siguientes temporadas

didn't really like season 4, everything felt too cold and distant. the story wasn't as interesting as in the previous seasons.
the way it wrapped up though, great ending.
good thing i still have the original to watch!

the family plotline is kinda annoying. other then that really solid show. i love holder and lindens chemistry, great characters.
the episodes focused more around the family are weaker than the rest but got better in season 2.

Is nowhere near as good as the original Danish series, but it got much better when they moved away from Forbrydelsen and became its own story. I actually think the final episodes of Season 2 were as strong as the the original. Now on to Season 3

What an awesome show!
It's great to have it back, especially after that amazing season two finale! There aren't many shows that can top this in acting and clever writing.
The American version of this features some of the best acting. Absolutely brilliant series.
And they have just announced a season 3 IS being made.
We are watching the 3'th season in Denmark right now... but off cause that the danish version of the killing... but maybe it would come to a US version as well

Wow, wow! Just watched the series finale - don't think we will get a season 3. For me, this show got close to perfect, all the ingredients were there. Lots of kudos.

This is a great show.. Never mind the naysayers complaining about the 2nd season... The 1st season is AWESOME and the 2nd is shaping up to be just as awesome.

I'm not sure if it's the "Previously on AMCs The Killing" intro or not, but it reminds me so much of Breaking Bad.
I loved this show till the finale, and then I got pissed. Don't waste 13 hours on this one.

Great drama (apart from the kid lost episode). Please don't ruin this by trying to drag it out into a second series.
Really liked the atmosphere. It's a great opposite of all the flashy CSI/person that helps the police shows.
Although i enjoyed the first season, mainly due to its serious and depressing atmosphere, i felt the season finale was extremely weak. It seems they tried to leave room for a second season, and had to come up with some silly storyline at the end to keep things going with the same characters.
Very good show indeed. Loved every episode except for the one where her kids get's lost the entire show. That was more of a story filler for me. But other than that excellent show. Good acting. Well told story.
Best pure thriller kind of TV show out there! Storyline is extremely well structured, every following episode os related to the previous. Might be a bit slow but still awesome! :)
