[4.8/10] Well, we return to The League’s favorite game, “Let’s find the most elaborate ways to be a dick to Andre despite the fact that he’s the only member of the group who isn’t a complete asshole to everyone.” It’s not a great game. The show can definitely make some comedic hay out of Andre’s complete and utter lameness, but the rest of the group’s superdickery to him, including on his wedding day, is just crap.
There’s also more football players trotted out to awkwardly say their lines and be shoehorned into their proceedings. That said, I did like the twist that after trying to play the “ransack the minibar” prank, the group gets misdirected to J.J. Watt’s room and gets chased down by a DPOY for their troubles. Watt is overused here, but at least acquits himself decently. That said, even this storyline gives Ruxin a win, which is rarely a good thing, and J.J. Watt making peace with him and turning the tables is contrived as hell.
The only bits I really liked in this were Andre’s parents telling stories about him and reacting to the idiocy of the main group, and the group trying to make trades via their wedding toasts. Granted, the latter thing is a form of superdickery as well, but it’s at least mildly clever.
Of course, there’s a clockwork series of events that end up ruining Andre’s wedding, and while the path to get there has some minor cleverness amid the sitcom-level coincidences, it ends with the group not giving a damn about the fact taht they just ruined Andre’s big day and wants us to like them for it. Whatever, in season 5, The League is what it is, and I suppose I shouldn’t expect anything different now.
On top of that, we have more dumb AIDS jokes, a dumb “pooping in the ocean joke” and a dumb/cruel self-pleasuring joke. So, you know, par for the course on this show.
I swear to god, I watched some late season episode of this show and thought it was funny, which is what convinced me to watch this in the first place. I can’t wait until I get to that episode and either discover that it was an aberration or realize that I was nuts. We’ll have to wait and see! In the mean time, this is a load of crud with only the scantest of bright spots.

The climax of the episode with Jayma Mays, had some pretty bad writing. It's moments like this (and the very end of Season 3) that bring the show down.
