[4.6/10] Well, it’s back to dumbsville for The League. Alas, it was a fun break from stupidity while it lasted.
Let’s start with the most annoying part of this episode, which is Sofia’s nanny cams to spy on Ruxin while she’s out of town and can micromanage his eating habits and coaster usage and the like. Why this show can make Jenny a reasonable person (at least relative to the average of the group), but has to make Sofia the caricatured, shrew wife is beyond me. It’s such a cliché, as is the disapproving mother-in-law. And the only thing more annoying than that is Ruxin’s R-rated Tim Taylor shtick of spouting imbecilic catchphrases, eating junk food, and masturbating. This kind of comedy may be funny when you’re twelve years old, but that’s about it.
The same goes for Pete and Kevin playing “dick chicken” which is more middle school comedy whose only effort to gain laughs rests on the idea that penises are inherently funny. Stupid, stupid crap.
The rest of the episode is no better. Pete hitting on a woman at the bar (and miraculously succeeding) using refereeing is more thinly-veiled wish fulfillment nonsense. Andre and Kevin freaking out about Ellie “developing” is disgusting, (though I’ll admit Kevin’s line about “do you think we’ll go to therapy separately or do joint sessions?” got a laugh out of me). And Taco’s Amazon Prime imitation was fine as a single gag, but quickly wore thin.
Overall, a weak outing that dashes my ever-foolish hopes that this show has turned a corner.
EBDB Prime: Food from your own fridge in minutes! lol

Taco sucks. The EBDB prime stuff sucks. Drop the EBDB stuff - it hasn't ever been funny. This episode also made Sofia look psycho.
