The pilot was great, but this one was boring.
Julia's storyline is boring as hell!
I do like Eliza! And I'm curious to see how she'll help Quentin and Penny.
1st episode looked so promising, but this one was really boring and hard to watch.
Blah… I should give this one a Meh (5) but it wasn't worse than the pilot, so…
This show has some interesting parts (setting, some of the characters) but it's also so far been weirdly disjointed and confusing / badly written. Like for instance, in this episode it wasn't at all clear what on earth Penny could have said to make Quentin get expelled. I mean, if there was one person to blame it was Alice. Even if Penny lied about what happened Quentin could have just told the truth, and in truth there was nothing he did that the others didn't do except drop that coin (at which point the professor and the Dean had already been attacked, so it didn't change anything about the outcome - and being afraid certainly shouldn't get you expelled). The only thing that sets Quentin apart was the fact that the beast knew his name, but how is that relevant in the question of who needs to be punished for summoning it?
I think this episode was needed in order to get everything moving, but that doesn't make it necessarily good. The pilot was certainly better, but if they ignore too many details, or even put them off for a later date, it might get confusing.

No. When even David Call just seems cheesy and silly, it's time for me to give up. Maybe some other time. When I am drunk or very VERY bored... ;)

Well...about 90% of what happened in this episode was obvious and expected...so, the pilot was much better but now everything is set and the story has to develop so we'll see how it goes.
