Something special happens in The Missing Season 1. Nesbitt and Karyo make this season one of the most interesting and most intense of recent memory. What makes the casting of these two so powerful is that they act as complete opposites--Karyo is cerebral patient, kind and thoughtful; while Nesbitt is a furnace of anger, energy and action. It doesn't always make sense why Karyo puts up with Nesbitt's character, but you could say that Karyo never gives up. And while Nesbitt is smart here, his constant over intensity is a lot to take. It's a bit like tea that's steeped for too long.
