This shower turns out to be a lot better than I expected.

I was starting to lose interest in previous episodes but FUCK that interview scene slapped me in the face to get my attention and the title is genius.

Bradley is like that horrible first date that is shrill without knowing she's shrill, talks over you, skimps on hygiene, forgets to ask questions, comments on what you're eating, gets too drunk, mentions her ex, and complains about all the things her other dates did wrong... Then gets fiercely perplexed you don't want a second date. :grimacing: i can understand being a little bit perverse but she really doesn't seem to care if she loses that new job or not.

Also just how does a show manage to be watered down AND overwritten? And this was a "good" episode. Really, tho, this episode should have been the pilot.

This show is doing a great job with ending each episode. There's always a 'climax' to each episode that makes you sit at the edge of your chair. Alex and Bradley are so unpredictable with their moves, that it makes the story so interesting. In a world that is driven by sticking to the script and following the rules, these two enigmas are definitely the stars of this show.

I think the power dynamic revelation was one of the most important parts of the 'me too' movement. And on top of that is the whole set of reasons women talk themselves out of saying anything or pushing back. This was really well done.
And I really felt for Nestor Campbell's character in that moment, with it having clearly played on his mind about how he'd gotten to that point with his subordinate. Power and sexuality is such a complex interaction. Billy Crudip's character is playing all the games though. Not sure what his overall plan is. But he skillfully steered Bradley's divergence in that interview.

Oh, that interview in the end... nicely done to get one excited to keep tuning in.

.... and Kelly Clarkson!

Great and powerful episode. That was an interview worth watching - maybe UK journalists from BBC and Sky should take note!

I have not finished the series yet, but I have watched the first 6 episodes. I have been enjoying it. 'The Morning Show' is a clear reflection of the #metoo era, and in general how societal rules are changing. Make no mistake, this IS based on Matt Lauer's firing from NBC, but the stars of this show can't legally say so. The acting in this is top-notch, it looks good, and the writing is decent. I only see two negatives: First, there are a lot of characters. It could just be me, but the show doesn't really 'introduce' many of them and you're left scrambling to figure out just who they are and what their purpose is. Secondly, this show has a lot of cursing. Like, a swear word every 3 minutes. Me, I am not a fan of that. Swear words lose their power when they are said frequently. With that being said, I do recommend the show, but I would suggest watching maybe a few episodes at a time, don't watch it all at once. It's heavy.
