I think many of them didn't read these comic books, including me, but this is a very interesting series.
You must watch it.

I think the acting is good, the characters are interesting, but maybe the plot moves rather sloppily. And something I think that could've improve this episode, is to lay off the voiceover. I don't think it was needed to see that intro of the realm of Dream and make him entirely silent, even for the viewers, until Lucienne finds him at the end. (The way he speaks there makes me think that maybe it was originally like that). Maybe in the comics the narration works, but in this media we get everything from just Tom Sturridge great acting.

As someone who tried to read the much loved Gaiman Sandman comics, and couldn't really get into it, I'm stunned how great this first episode is. As good as anything Netflix has ever done, and that includes Stranger Things - makes me want to go out and spend $200 on the Sandman Omnibus. Fantastic.

I'm not so sure what to think of this. I never read the comic, but I am enthralled by the concept and some of the ideas here. I'm not exactly sure where this is going, and I feel as though this first episode hasn't really given me a good sense of what the rest of the season is going to be like (that's not necessarily a bad thing). Tough to rate, but it's certainly good, I'm just not sure how good I think it is. Going to go with a 7.5/10 for now for this episode, but I can see myself raising that a little once more context is given and I see more of the show.

Amazing performances by Charles Dance and the two actors depicting Alex. I feel like this is the new binge-worthy fantasy series I was looking for! Definitely worth a shot if you’re hesitant.

Surprisingly accurate to the great comic, like it so far.

Oh no! Not another one with gender issues. Lord help us all.

Do you know why the first issue is called "Sleep of the Just"? You do, if you've read it. Do you know why the first episode of the series is called that? There's no reason, really, since an important side character named Wesley Dodds, a.k.a. Sandman, is not introduced in the episode. Abel and Caine aren't in "Imperfect Hosts". I wonder what else is gone.

Overall, two episodes in, this is a flavorless series only remotely associated with the original graphic novel.

I know the show should not just be 100% same as the comics, but I really didn't like the changes the writers made here. The biggest ones were the intro and Corinthian. All the mystery about the Sandman disappeared, because of the intro. We knew eveerything about him before he appeared in the ritual instead of Death.

Now Corinthian; I don't see the reason to include him. The comic's start was great, we didn't need him to explain everything. The writers and the director missed the opportunity to introduce him like in the comic; showing his POV through sunglasses.

And yeah, the scenes with the raven were stupid.

Fantasy adaptations go wrong all the time. This one has started very strongly. I’m in

I'm not a comic reader or anything like that, so for a person who just watches this series because it's seems interesting it's actually great. I love it.

I'm nearly finished with the comic series but I couldn't wait any longer. It's better than I dreamed it would be.

Never read the comics but I am friends of many fans. This episode left curious and maybe I will like the mythology! My friends loved it

Loved the pilot, can't wait for more! Only one thing bugged me: He called the bird "my raven". It wasn't a raven, it was a european magpie.

This is so much better than I ever thought it could be.

this episode was pure perfection.

so far, so good. I really love the work of Gaiman, at least most of it. This looks like a good start, but let's see where it goes

Great opening! This is going to be a real treat both visual and story wise.

It was kinda interesting but, The Silent Slenderman made it a bit irritating..
How could some hit their head so lightly and bleed to death?
