Another okay episode, waiting for a banger.

[7.1/10 on a post-classic Simpsons scale] This is a sound episode. It has a beginning, middle, and end. It has some solid gags (even if there's plenty of clunkers -- especially involving Homer and Cregg Demon). It has an emotional throughline and a legitimate conflict. And by god, it has some heart and earned sentiment.

Things go off the rails in the fourth act, with an array of unnecessary and reality-breaking celebrity cameos. But they're somewhat balanced out by Martin Landau giving a performance that recalls his turn as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood. Overall, this one is far from perfect, but a good guest star performances, and the heartwarming story built around the bond between Lisa and Ramondo, makes this one worthwhile in my book.
