Man, what episode from this era wasn't great? The Rear Window parody is brilliant, the fickleness of childhood popularity is well-observed, the various and sundry pool gags are uniformly great; Bart's descent into nigh-madness is well done; in keeping with the Hitchcockian vibe, there's so much great use of perspective and lighting in the animation; there's great vocal performances from everyone like Nancy Cartwright selling the various shades of Bart going off the deep end (in more ways than one) to a brief but memorable riff on Mr. Moviefone by Hank Azaria; and there's Homer at his peak, hilarious obliviousness. Superb from beginning to end.
