there is never enough Toni Collette - im always impressed with her acting; just wow!
it doesn't become clear until this episode that the series intends to play out all the proposed theories, i think. i honestly love that. in the first episode, i wondered why they'd show martha tripping on her way up the stairs and what the ridiculous animal (now clearly owl) noises were in past scenes. it's an interesting way to handle a case. without any spoilers (i mean it's a true crime case come on but still), toni collette acts out the "accidental fall" theory in a way that is deeply disturbing. like, i had to pause and take a second the same way i had to in a certain scene in hereditary. really would not wish this version of a death on anyone tbh.
This case is very confusing. The scene of the reenactment of the fall was very strong.
wow. this was a stellar episode of television.
67 I Some new facts reveal that made Mike in a worse spot. He could be killing Kathleen. But with the future scenes that this series showed brings more questions. Is that mean Mike had won his case? And who is the woman with white hair in the future scene? So many intrigues could happen because Mark has many relatives and family who could connect with the case. He also has so many enemies since writing local papers and doing politics. Those who already watched the documentary already knew the faith that happened to Mike, but they still could enjoy this series to get another perspective from the story. And we should mention how well The Staircase filmed its scenes. The transition from present to past is very creative to do.

Apart from the great acting, this episode was also brilliantly edited!
