The Terror 2018

Such a happy little optimistic, positive and life-affirming little story! Honest.

Finished watching the show, characters are very well developed and you feel for them. Definitely a must watch, 10/10.

Season One I really enjoyed, although a bit slow at times. But, if you know the history of the story, you will understand why it’s slow. They don’t really know what fate fell upon these poor men, it’s still a mystery. We have been lucky enough to retrieve the captains logs recently, which is what the season is based on. Truly terrifying situation to have been in.

Season 2, deserves a 10 out of 10. I was glued to the TV and mesmerised. Japanese superstition is extremely scary anyway and their horror films are always so terrifying. This season was really high budget and the whole production and actors were phenomenal. Without a doubt, one of the best things I’ve watched (film or tv) in a longtime!

I know a few who lost Interest in Season 1, and if you are one of those people, don’t let it put you off Season 2. Even my 18 year old son saw bits of me watching Season 2 and has started to watch it himself; he prefers to do pc gaming and TV/Films don’t really interest him, but even he’s captivated by Season 2.

Enjoy!

The Terror is a series following the same lines as American Horror Story where each season has a different story arc.

Season 1 I watched when it first came out. Even though I remember I enjoyed watching it in having trouble remembering the details of the season. As with others here there were a I remember slower moments but that only enhanced the suspense.

Season 2 I've only just started watching and I'm 'hooked' so to speak. This season is focusing on Japanese that have come to America prior to Pearl Harbour. The spirituality of the Japanese and the whole culture is captivating and the first episode sets up for a very entertaining and mystical season.

I'll return once completing this season my end thoughts. Already though for my taste this will be an enthralling ride.

Season One was an enthralling and epic story with a great cast of actors. Season Two was the opposite.

Slow and brooding yet relentless, uncompromising and absolutely savage. It takes it's time to painstakingly build an atmosphere of fear, claustrophobia and despair, but even in those quiet moments it wastes no time building it's characters and their relationships and in the best way possible. Quality of the cast and attention to details while recreating characters and locations effortlessly transport you directly to that era if you allow it. This is not your average horror story, so don't go into it expecting quick thrills. This is story about human condition that's bolstered by real life mystery and historical context that's absolutely perfectly chosen for what it's trying to say and it will take you in directions you never would have imagined. And seriously, it cannot be overstated how fantastic the set design is, it never feels fake or off. Absolutely perfect candidate for a binge on some rainy weekend.

Such a good series. Beautiful sceneries, affective horror, well written dialogue etc. A bit 'slow' but that's a good thing imo. Really glad I started watching.

I personally think The Terror is doing a very poor job at keeping up interest in very slow early episodes. If I didn't love the setting and period it's enveloped into I probably wouldn't even bother keeping up with it. It needs to pick up the pace fast tho.

Ok, good acting, good ambiance, everything is very good here. But the scenario is quite boring, i could watch the first episode because it's something new but barely finished the second episode. It's sad this much of effort and money spent on a very boring subject.

I am enjoying the cast, many recognizable faces, and acting as well as the beautiful ice scapes. I do not understand how to suspend belief that they have supplies for that many men to go more than 6 months much less 2 years. But besides that fact I hope the 3rd Episode has more action and suspense since they have done some character building and plot outline so far.

I'm watching s01e08 and no wonder this show is canceled, my bp is up to the roof, why they let that psycho speak before hanging? The creature pass by them and no one shoots it?? So stupid. I'm glad they canceled this show

Really good and well paced first season but the second kinda dragged, which was a pity. Definitely worth watching the first season, though.

Now that I've finished season 2, Infamy, my expectations were met. The beauty about this series is The Terror uses historical stories. This one particularly was interesting as it focused on A Japanese community that have been in America for some time with grown American born children. Then Pearl Harbor occurred. All the Japanese were rounded up and put into internment camps. Quite distressing. A demonic spirit was following a family member. The whole saga of the spirit and the trauma of this proud, respectful community plays throughout the war. This season was full of subtitles so if you don't like subtitles you may find it frustrating, but it's definitely worth the watch.

this is the weirdest series I've ever watched yet it's innovative

story line good but very unrealistic.... like dragging the boats with fine china, picnic tables, wooden cabinets a lot of unnecessary weight
