This ESPN documentary series examines sports figures that are the subject of blame and ridicule for gaffes, mistakes, or questionable judgment. Brian Kenny takes a look at the moments and decisions that define these figures in the popular consciousness and the little-known stories underlying them to show that this blame may be undeserved.

  • no air date30m

In 1985, the St. Louis Cardinals were three outs away from their second World Series championship in four years when Jorge Orta grounded out to lead off the ninth inning of Game 6. But first base umpire Don Denkinger called Orta safe, in one of the worst blown calls in the history of professional sports. The Kansas City Royals rallied to win Game 6, and won the World Series after the Cardinals imploded in Game 7. The World Series banner would have to wait 21 years to fly over St. Louis, but how much of that was really Denkinger's fault?
