But the deal is short lived when Salene goes to the sewers to binge.
Bray goes out to get some more food and is bitten and is not pleased when he gets back to the mall to see Sasha. Amber finds that more food is missing from the food store. Amber back from Loco HQ hatches plans to save Bray, but they are too risky until Ryan and Dal find a toy helicopter, and a camera. Salene gets worried about the virus and Tai-san offers some well need reassurance. A noise from the sewers lets the mallrats know Lex has returned to them very old and wrinkly. After a bit of persuasion, Zandra goes to take care of Lex and tells him about the baby. Ryan and Dal gets some footage of the Locos at play, which devastates Amber, and leaves Trudy telling home truths, while Jack crack the Hope Island disk code.
Jack tells Dal of his breakthrough. After a night spent studying maps they find that the code is coordinated to a place called Eagle Mountain. The tribe are awoken and are not to keen to go on a trek for the antidote. Ebony talks to Bray, and still gets nowhere with her love. Ryan apologizes to Salene before they head out with KC to find food. When the mission is endangered, Salene saves the day with her charm. The young Lex is back, and all are now aware that the antidote works, but the other samples are gone. Tai-san reveals a vision she had; a mountain and a beautiful eagle. Could this be an indication of Eagle Mountain?
KC tells of how he rescued Zandra from Top Hat during the battle. Lex wants revenge! The tribe collect the essentials and leave the mall and start the trek to Eagle Mountain, all except for Trudy who leaves a message for Bray before rejoining the tribe. Bray notices the Locos are having leadership problems. Lex and Ryan scout ahead on the way out of the city. While gone the tribe runs into trouble as a group of crazies start to appear from the hiding. The tribe begin to panic as they hear Top hats motorcycle, could Tribe Circus be coming? Ebony wakes to find Spike wants to take over, after a quick battle Ebony and Bray escape the clutches of the rebellious Locos. As Top Hat's cycle stops in front of the tribe they find that Lex and Ryan are the motorcycle saviours. The tribe reaches the edge of the city and encounter yet another struggle, a rural tribe won't let virus carriers pass into the countryside.
Lex stands his ground and the rural tribe approach; the Mallrats have no chance of winning until they find their saviours, Ebony, Bray and a bus. Everyone climbs aboard and they drive through the rode block. Bray realises Amber thinks the worst and nothing helps the situation, even Ebony talking. The bus come to a halt, as Jack realises the map has gone. He confides in Tai-san, and they will now work together to find a way. Lex retells the story of his revenge to Top Hat. All seem impressed. Jack and Tai-san realise they are lost on this trek, but just as they are about to confess, Tai-san spots the all important observatory. Inside, most of the tribe decide to go their separate ways, as Lex talks some sense into Amber and Bray and they kiss and make up. But the observatory searches the sky and they find they are humanities last hope of survival.
""If you are listening to this the only hope for humanity lies with you, whoever you are. Listen very carefully to what I have to say... "" There is an antidote to the dread virus and it lies hidden in all the major centres of the world. To find it, the Tribe must leave the mountain and return to the city. But tragedy strikes when the generator in the bowels of the building catches fire and the Observatory explodes. In a distant land, THE CHOSEN, a strange tribe of ZOOT-worshippers, watch the satellite as it arcs across the night sky. It is the holy sign they have been waiting for. Led by THE GUARDIAN the CHOSEN`s pilgrimage begins... The remnants of the shocked Tribe huddle around two makeshift graves lying side-by-side on the mountain. BRAY is only slowly coming back to consciousness and it falls to LEX to tell him of the loss of AMBER and ZANDRA. BRAY remains by the graves as the rest head off on the next stage of their quest but to be overwhelmed by grief is neither what AMBE
LEX is in despair with no antidote and no formula for the making of it either, he`s done for! TAI-SAN tells the sceptical Tribe that she can find the answer: the best medicines come from plants. No one`s buying it. A familiar face at a familiar farm: the return of rough, tough, LEX-baiting ALICE to the story and the introduction of her little sister ELLIE. But ELLIE has been infected with the virus! LEX is getting worse. Why did the antidote not work the first time? BRAY slips JACK the secret sample of antidote to analyse. Should they not give this last dose to LEX? But if it isn`t analysed, LEX isn`t the only one who will die. TAI-SAN, despite the others` doubts, goes to the woods to begin collecting the plants she needs. BRAY and JACK go back to the antidote lab to pick up equipment and are pounced on by a crowd of sick kids, desperate for the antidote. BRAY and JACK are pursued by the rabble back to the Mall and only just bring the grille down in time before the siege begins
Tai-San claims she can create the antidote from herbs, leaving everyone unaware that she had read the papers that contained the formula and burned them. Lex is at a breaking point. At the farm, Alice worries about her little sister Ellie when she returns from the city with the virus. Bray asks Jack to help analyze what's left of the antidote, but when they attempt to leave the Mall, they're blocked by a group of infected people looking for the antidote. Tai-San decides to recreate the antidote on her own. Lex learns that Bray has a little antidote left and he drinks it, leaving Bray worried that their last hope had just diminished. The Mall is filled with angry people looking for the antidote, so KC and Lex prepare a fake antidote to calm the masses. Alice also appears at the Mall looking for help, and even Ebony's old pal Spike gives it a try. Ebony gives Bray a warning not to cross her in the future. The Guardian and his people approach the city.
The Mall Rats prepare to leave the Mall behind due to the possibility of various infected people coming to them for the antidote, but Tai-San saves the day by showing everyone the antidote that she had made herself from various herbs. The tribe is reluctant to accept the fact that Tai-San will be the only person to know the formula, but they decide to go along with it and they leave the following day to collect plants for Tai-San. Alice is angry when the antidote doesn't seem to help Ellie. Trudy is still jealous over Bray and Danni's budding friendship. Tai-San, Jack and Dal work on setting up a lab. Ebony has a secret proposition for Lex, who is overjoyed when the virus retracts. He is, however, reminded by everyone that it will keep coming back unless he continues taking the antidote. Spike and the rest of the Locos infiltrate the Mall and take Salene hostage while looking for the antidote. Cloe and Patsy are heartbroken when Spike severely hurts Bob the dog in the process. Ebony makes a proposition for Spike and the others to work for the Mall Rats as security in exchange for constant doses of the antidote, and they agree to go along with it. During the night, someone grabs Lex's throat.
Alice angrily confronts Lex about giving her the fake antidote and Lex offers her the real thing instead. Alice takes Tai-San with her to the farm to make sure Ellie gets better. The following morning, Lex and Ebony set off to rescue Tai-San, and Danni tags along to make sure that they don't try to take Tai-San away themselves. Alice is pleased when Ellie's condition gets better, and she happily thanks Tai-San. Cloe and Patsy are worried about Bob. Lex is stunned when Alice happily hugs him. On their way back to the Mall, Lex and Ebony attempt to kidnap Tai-San, but Alice and Ellie decide to follow them and they manage to help out. Lex isn't pleased when Tai-San agrees to have Alice be her bodyguard. The Mall Rats are finally happy again, as they hold a banquet for Tai-San's return and the arrival of new allies. KC collects stuff from the infected people. The Guardian and his figures arrive in the city.
The Mall Rats are slowly taking control of their part of the city. Each of them now have pentangles on their arms and they all agree to welcome Alice and Ellie into their tribe. Dal agrees to control Alice's farm and several members of the tribe agree to work there too. Jack is worried because Dal won't be around so much anymore. Bray and Tai-San are both worried about Danni's eager drive to put piece between the tribes, while Danni voices her thoughts about Tai-San having all the control. Bray is shocked when he finds KC taking stuff from the sick kids and decides to punish him by letting him do all the dirty work on the farm. Lex is surprised by Ebony's cool attitude towards the tribe leaders, but she's got a plan of her own. Ellie and Jack become friends. Jack is pleasantly surprised when Ellie brings him a new computer. Meanwhile, The Chosen continue their way into the city.
Danni prepares for the gathering. Dal urges Ryan and Salene to be more happy about working at the farm, but Ryan has trouble with adapting. Alice is concerned about Tai-San's health, but Tai-San just shrugs it off as working too much. Ellie and Jack return to the place where the formula for the antidote was found to learn more about the virus, which Lex sees as a waste of time. Patsy and Cloe decide to take stuff from strangers even though Bray ordered them not to. Lex returns to the gambling place that was run by the Tribe Circus and seeks revenge. This time, the minders are forced to make it seem as if though Lex was always winning. Bray, Danni and Ebony meet with the leaders of the other tribes to reach a deal regarding unity, but their plea is interrupted by the arrival of The Chosen, who refuse to speak or take the antidote for one of their infected people.
Patsy is tired of being a servant while serving Bray coffee in bed. KC is worried when Patsy sees the pictures of Tai-San's bed, but Patsy decides to keep quiet if KC agrees to do whatever she wants. Lex realizes that the croupier at the casino was faking the games so it would look like Lex has always won. KC brings Lex the pictures and they set off on another mission. They lure Alice away from the lab while KC takes time to check the lab. Trudy searches for a good babysitter for Brady, and Ryan suggests Patsy. Cloe is having trouble dealing with Patsy's new job and the fact that Bob seems to be growling every time a mysterious figure passes by. Ellie and Jack find a broken videotape at the building where the antidote was found and they bring in back to the Mall, where Danni seems to be a bit uneasy about their discovery. Tai-San is finally persuaded by others to take the antidote. When she finally seems to be getting better, she's angry to learn that Alice allowed KC to watch over the lab. KC enters the lab and sets off the gas. Alice smells gas and tries to warn Tai-San, but it's already too late when Tai-San uses matches. Trudy, Bray and Patsy take a walk with Brady, but after a moment of playing, they're shocked to realize that Brady is missing.
Trudy angrily confronts Patsy about losing Brady, while Bray tries to find the baby, but it's already too late. A member of The Chosen brings Brady to The Guardian. The Mall is rocked by the explosion, while Tai-San isn't able to regain consciousness. The Mall Rats are worried when the only thing Lex and Ebony care is the antidote instead of thinking what's best for Tai-San. Bray makes Ebony feel guilty for having bad security and she decides to go searching after Patsy, who hasn't returned ever since Trudy yelled at her. KC finds Patsy but she refuses to return to the Mall and threatens to reveal KC's secret. Cloe is crushed when Ebony returns without finding anyone. Tai-San finally regains consciousness, but it turns out she has amnesia.
The Mall Rats are worried about their existence now that Tai-San appears to have amnesia. However, Tai-San slowly begins to have memories of what happened to her. KC confirms to Ebony that he caused the explosion and asks her to protect him from Alice in exchange for info on Patsy's whereabouts, but Ebony manages to turn the situation around and get what she wants. Alice refuses to let Lex see Tai-San. Ebony finds Patsy and brings her back to the Mall where everyone is overjoyed to have her back except Trudy, who comes off as a villain after another screaming session. Lex suggests KC should tell the truth. Ellie and Jack finally make the videotape work and learn that the virus wasn't made by a man, but instead came as a comet. KC finally confesses his crimes but goes off without a punishment after Tai-San finally regains her memory, makes more antidote, and then decides that she should no longer be the only one that knows the formula to the antidote. She chooses Bray as the only other person to know.
Bray refuses to become the next person to know the formula for the antidote, but Tai-San insists explaining that she chose him because he is the only person she can trust. Danni writes the Bill of Rights and is irritated when Bray can't spend any time with her. Dal is keen on continuing his work on the farm, but Ryan and Salene take a day off to go searching for Brady. Lex is jealous at Bray's power. Ebony intrigues Lex by mentioning Shakespeare, so Lex asks Ryan to teach him how to read, only to be ridiculed by Ebony. Trudy goes off searching for her daughter and finds herself attacked by two guys, but Ryan and Salene come in time to rescue her. Ellie confides in Salene about falling in love with someone. Ryan continues trying to avoid Salene every time she tries to be amorous. Dal decides to stay on the farm and while going out during the night, he is confronted by The Chosen.
The Chosen confront Dal with various requests but he threatens them by mentioning being a Mall Rat, which doesn't work for the courageous figures. Dal manages to escape and alarm the others at the Mall about how The Chosen are worshiping Zoot, and they all come to a conclusion that The Chosen took Brady. Salene is troubled by Ryan distancing himself every time she tries to get close to him. KC wants to go fishing but nobody wants to go with him. He's forbidden from going outside but decides to disobey yet again, only to find himself knocked out by Ebony. Lex creates more confusion between Salene and Ryan. Danni is irritated by Bray's lack of interest in the Bill of Rights, while Tai-San is angered by Danni's requests. Jack accidentally realizes that the tape has more audio left on it including a confession from the president that the comet thing was just a fraud. When he brings Ellie to listen to it, the tape has already been stolen by someone. Ebony finds The Guardian and confronts him about his beliefs, then suggests teaming up together to take down the Mall Rats, but The Guardian isn't interested in either her or the antidote, but wants Trudy to complete the family triangle. Irritated by her problems, Salene returns to her old eating habits.
Salene has to deal with repeating bulimia while Ryan is curious about why is Salene acting so distant. Danni continues working on the Bill of Rights but still gets no support from the others. Ebony convinces Trudy to follow her to find Brady, and Trudy stupidly decides to do so. Jack reassures Ellie that he heard the president lying on tape, but they no longer have proof. Danni also doesn't trust Jack. Lex gives bad relationship advice to Ryan and it turns into another fight with Salene. Danni is convinced that Ebony is behind Brady's disappearance. Trudy thinks of going back to the Mall but Ebony convinces her to continue their trip until Trudy realizes that Ebony tricked her. The Chosen take both women hostage and Trudy suddenly finds herself in a very powerful position, while it looks like Ebony's days may come to an end. Ryan realizes that Salene fell off the wagon and they finally share a talk about how scared and inexperienced they are, and they end up getting closer. Danni tears up the Bill of Rights after another fight with Bray. The Guardian tells Trudy that Ebony's destiny is in her own hands.
While trying to decide what to do with Ebony, Trudy asks The Chosen to leave them alone for awhile. The two enemies share a long talk about the past and flash back to the time when Trudy was madly in love with Bray, when Ebony came to town and stole Bray away from Trudy, when Trudy slept with Martin to make Bray jealous, when the virus spread, how Martin became Zoot. Trudy finally decides to let Ebony go.
The Mall Rats realize that Trudy is missing and with Ebony gone too, Lex decides to put himself back as the sole Head of Security. Trudy finds out that Ebony wasn't let go and that she's being chained up, so she decides to make her a servant so she wouldn't have to suffer. Salene and Ryan play their own games with Lex. Patsy and Cloe decide to make Wanted posters for Trudy, with KC's help. Tai-San worries that Trudy and Ebony might be working together. Ebony approaches Trudy with a plan to escape and Trudy warns her not to trick her. Ellie and Jack both separately seek advice on how to approach the other. Ebony returns to the Mall after having escaped and pretends not to know anything about Trudy or Brady. The Guardian confronts Trudy about helping Ebony escape but Trudy manages to turn the blame on him, making The Guardian nervous. He reassures Trudy that she'll never be able to run away.
Bray is shocked when Ebony finally admits that she knows where Trudy and Brady are, but she won't give away the location unless Bray tells her the formula for the antidote. Danni is convinced that Ebony and Trudy are in cahoots. Jack tries to talk to Ellie about his feelings for her but gets interrupted by Dal yet again. Trudy is hurt upon realizing that Ebony didn't come back for her and she's forced to say things she doesn't mean in a ceremony for The Chosen. Bray refuses to reveal the formula to Ebony but when she decides to leave, he's forced to reveal it. Ebony finally tells everyone where Trudy is and they rush to rescue her. Jack tries to tell Ellie how he feels but she plays a trick on him. The Mall Rats arrive at the cave to find it empty and then leave to the coast to rescue Trudy. Lex finds himself near death and to protect him, Trudy decides to go away with The Chosen.
The Mall Rats learn of Trudy's forced kidnapping, while Lex's ego is hurt knowing that Bray would have left him to die in order to protect Trudy. Jack refuses to talk to Ellie after she made him feel like a fool, so Ellie asks her sister for advice. Lex and Bray end up in another showdown, this time to death, but Ebony prevents them from going further. KC uses Cloe and Patsy to trade stuff only to end up double-crossed himself. Tai-San feels as if Ebony knows the formula, but Bray denies giving it to her. Ellie tries to apologize to Jack, but things go south yet again. Ebony wants to be co-leader with Bray and she blackmails him into accepting. The Mall Rats are having troubles dealing with Bray's suggestion, but are forced to agree.
Ebony assumes her role as the leader and manages to make everyone nervous with her tough skills. Jack and Patsy accidentally let the people inside the Mall too early and it angers Ebony. Lex arrives at the party drunk and doesn't even care that he's embarrassing himself. Cloe feels like something is happening to Bob. Tai-San accidentally spills over the poisoned antidote and Bob decides to drink it. Tai-San is shocked upon finding Bob in a bad state.
The Mall Rats bury Bob after he dies from drinking the poisoned antidote. Tai-San finds a crystal on her floor and tells Bray that someone attempted to poison her. Bray questions Ebony who denies having anything to do with it and decides to find the culprit. Jack and Ellie are keen on informing people about the virus, but Danni doesn't agree with their decision. Alice finds the crystals in Danni's room and Ebony uses the chance to lock her up, while the others don't know what to believe since they don't even know much about Danni's past. Dal brings the lamb to the Mall to cheer up Patsy and Cloe. Tai-San and Bray discuss about the possibility of Danni poisoning her. Ryan wants to help out Lex, but it is Salene that finally manages to get through to Lex. Lex confides about his troubled past. Ebony delightfully tells Danni what plans she has for her future.

During recess, Danni finally admits the truth to Bray - her father was the person that wiped out all the adults.
Bray promises to keep Danni's secret. Back in court, Ebony pulls off a perfect closing, but her victory is short term when Bray admits that Ebony knows the formula for the antidote and explains the reason why he had to tell her. With new evidence, the jury pronounces Danni free, leaving Ebony in shock over Spike not being able to influence the other. Danni tries to get back into normal life, but the Mall Rats all feel like there's something she's hiding. Patsy and Cloe tell Bray that they don't trust him anymore. However, Ebony reads a letter that Spike left saying that he is the culprit. Jack and Ellie find more info on Pandorax.
It's been a week since the latest happenings, and the Mall Rats prepare the Mall for the opening of the Trading Market. Danni is happy that Ellie and Jack can't find more info on Pandorax, but is irritated to learn that they won't quit looking. Alice is keen on doing anything it takes to protect Tai-San from Ebony. She's surprised to learn from Tai-San that she doesn't really need protection and that Tai-San believes that whenever death comes, she won't be able to stop it. Alice still decides to continue protecting her. Alice storms into the Mall and warns everyone that the Chosen are back, but nobody believes her after Trudy continues lying to them. The Guardian tells Trudy that he intends to reunite Bray with his brother once they have him in captivity.
Bray is upset when Lex doesn't manage to find many people to go up against the Chosen. Trudy and the Guardian plan to kill Danni if Bray doesn't show up. Bray attempts to persuade people to join him in the battle, but people seem to not care. The Mall Rats infiltrate the hotel, as Jack releases the rest of his friends. The Chosen withdraw to the beach. Salene is crushed that Ryan might die so she admits that she's pregnant. The Mall Rats have an advantage for a brief time before the Chosen take control again. Lex and Bray try to run away, but end up in a car accident. Ebony watches the madness from the top of the hill.
After the accident, Lt. Luke and a few others from the Chosen think that Lex and Bray are dead. Ebony rushes over to the scene of the accident and realizes both are still alive, as they head to the woods. Trudy and the Guardian settle into the Mall. The others are shaken by the news of Bray's and Lex's death, so Trudy asks to see their bodies. However, Luke informs them that the guys went away, giving the others hope that they are still alive. The Mall Rats learn that the tribal leaders are all being killed, and they fear for Danni's safety. The following day, Tai-San refuses to bow down to the Chosen so the Guardian refuses to let the others eat until she does so. Salene storms off after Ryan asks her if the baby is the only reason she married him. Ebony and Lex hide an injured Bray in the bushes, but when they return they realize that he's gone. A mysterious figure watches them.
Ebony and Lex are worried when they realize Bray is missing, but they decide not to go looking for him. May causes drama in the Mall when she isn't allowed to eat just because Tai-San won't bow down to the Chosen. Luke brings Bray to the Guardian. Trudy claims she did everything out of love, so she gives the Mall Rats some food. Ellie urges Jack to find a secret way out of the Mall. Trudy attempts to break Bray, but he won't listen to her. Jack is caught on his way out. Salene and Ryan make up. The Guardian decides to dispose of Jack, but Ellie convinces him that Jack's knowledge of science could be of great use for them. Ellie watches as Jack is taken away on a truck. Ebony and Lex go on a hunt after Pride, the man that has been stalking them, only to end up trapped themselves. They all end up talking and learn about the leader of Pride's tribe, a woman named Eagle.
Bray is having tough time dealing with images of Zoot. Ellie feels guilty for causing Jack's departure, but Dal and Alice try to convince her that it wasn't her fault. The Guardian refuses to let Trudy have more power when he learns she gave food to the Mall Rats, so he punishes her by taking away Brady. Trudy tells the Mall Rats that they will not get any more food until they begin worshiping Zoot. May is sick of others trying to fight the battle that they obviously won't win, and the others realize that maybe the best thing would be to just go along with the wishes of The Chosen. Lex attempts to fish but realizes he's just a city boy. Ebony persuades Lex to go back to the city with her. The Guardian is pleased when Trudy does a good job with Bray. Bray is brought in front of his tribe and forced to say words he doesn't mean, but he changes his mind at the last time and urges his friends never to stop fighting.
Trudy is appalled when the Guardian blames her for Bray's reluctance to bow down to the Chosen. He orders her to kill Bray and prove that she is worthy of Zoot. Tai-San tries to remain positive, but when Ryan is taken away, the others are even more depressed. Ryan is brought to a farm, where Lex and Ebony manage to inform him of their rescue plan. Ryan brings news to the others. Salene tries to persuade Trudy to save Bray's life, but Trudy remembers losing Bray to Salene and continues being cold. As the Chosen prepare to burn Bray alive, the Mall Rats form a circle to help their friend. Pride comes in time to rescue Bray. Salene tells Ryan that she might decide to go along with the craziness of the Chosen. The Guardian blames Trudy for disrupting Bray's execution. Ebony, Bray, Lex and Dal meet with Pride in the woods. Bray recognizes the ring that Pride has around his neck as Amber's, and Pride tells the others that the leader of his tribe, Eagle, used to be called Amber as well.
Bray refuses to accept the possibility of Amber being alive, and the thought of bringing up the pain from the past is hurting him. Ebony tries her best to convince everyone that Amber is dead and buried. Salene and May are keen on joining the Chosen as spies. Trudy has to go through a period of being tested for Zoot. Cloe and KC manage to snatch some food for the others. Dal wants to go to Amber's grave to find out if she's there or not, and both Dal and Bray admit that they had dreams of Amber being alive. Trudy is glad when Luke offers sympathy for her pain. The Guardian thinks Trudy didn't go along with not eating anything. Salene, Ryan and May go to the Chosen gathering. Dal, Bray, Lex, Ebony and Pride find Amber's grave empty. They go to the Eco tribe and are stunned when they realize that Amber is indeed alive.
Bray, Lex, Dal and Ebony are stunned to find out that Amber is alive, but she refuses to talk to any of them and instead wants them far away from her tribe. Amber reminisces about the life she used to have, while Bray is in pain over not being able to see her. Pride asks the Mall Rats to leave the next morning, and Ebony convinces Bray that it would be the best for them. Amber asks to see Dal, and old friends happily reunite and talk about what happened since the explosion; how Amber was rescued by Pride. Dal tells Amber that Ebony and Bray hate each other. Bray refuses to walk away and bursts into Amber's room looking for an explanation; Amber is keen on living a new life.
Bray asks Amber to help out her old friends, but she can't do much because every decision is made by the entire Gaian tribe. Amber reveals to Bray that Ebony knew she was alive after the explosion, but that she scared her off by claiming that she had a child with Bray. Bray denies it, but Amber doesn't believe him. The Mall Rats are annoyed when an outburst from Alice costs them another meal. Luke defends Trudy in front of the Guardian and is the one to thank for finally letting Trudy eat and see her baby. The Guardian wants Trudy to become closer to her old friends. Lex doesn't believe that the Gaians know how to fight so he challenges Pride to a fight and ends up losing, heavily. The Guardian lets Tai-San know that he admires her beliefs. Trudy becomes closer to Salene and May when she offers to relieve them of their duties so Salene could rest through her pregnancy. She asks them to somehow convince Cloe and Patsy as well. Bray tries to convince the Gaians to join them in the fight against the Chosen. He catches Ebony trying to burn an old photo that she used to trick Amber and immediately calls out Amber to prove to her that he never lied.
Bray proves to Amber that Ebony lied to her about having a baby together, but Amber still doesn't claims she doesn't care about what happened in the past. Ebony persuades Lex to leave camp early with her. Left behind, Bray and Dal prepare to return to the city after Amber tells them that the Gaians decided not to join the fight against the Chosen. Trudy offers the Mall Rats a chance to join the novice ceremony. Lex wants to sleep with Ebony but she passes on the chance. The Guardian is pleased when Trudy informs him of how the Mall Rats are joining them one by one. Alice refuses to bow down to the enemies and manages to have some fun while working. The Guardian and Tai-San enjoy a chat about life, and Luke interrupts them, making the Guardian very uneasy. Lex and Ebony rob a few Chosen guards of their clothes. Alice asks Ryan to convince Salene not to join the Chosen, but instead Salene convinces Ryan to join her. At the ceremony, Salene, May and Patsy agree to denounce themselves of the Mall Rats name, but Ryan refuses to join. Bray and Dal are surprised when, on their way to the city, the Gaians decide to join them.
Alice is mad at Salene, May and Patsy for going through with the Chosen novice meetings. Salene claims she is still pretending, while it seems as if the power has gotten to May's head. The Gaians, Bray and Dal come to a secret place where they talk about their moves against the Chosen. Pride is sent out on a search, while Bray starts having doubts about Amber's and Pride's friendship. Lex and Ebony witness their friends being taken to work. Ebony tells Lex that she plans to poison the Guardian. The Guardian uses the death of Patsy's parents as a lead-in for a terrible story. Bray convinces Amber to stay behind during their attack at the Mall. Alice and Ellie are worried when it seems as if Salene has started to crack under the pressure. Cloe volunteers to become a spy. Bray questions Pride about his relationship with Amber. Salene observes as the Guardian spies on Tai-San. Ebony comes from behind him and threatens him with a poisoned dagger, but the Guardian takes control until he finds himself in the exact same situation, but this time Lex is holding the poison. Just as Ebony urges Lex to kill the Guardian, Salene lets out a scream upon seeing Bray and the Gaians in the Mall.
Salene's scream alerts the entire Chosen guard, and Lex and Ebony are prevented from their plan to kill the Guardian. The Gaians and Bray decide to stop the fight and they collect Ebony's unconscious body on their way out. Salene is shocked that Bray is alive, and she informs the others. The Guardian goes crazy on Trudy, blaming her for everything that had happened even though she had nothing to do with it. He decides that it's good what happened because people hate him so much that they want to kill him. Tai-San is pleased when Lex pays her a visit. He tells her about Amber being alive, and she tells the others about the happy news. Pride reminds Ebony that she has to be thankful to Bray for choosing to save her from the Mall. Alice and Ellie try to get Patsy to become a spy. May is worried when the Guardian accuses her of being a spy, so she realizes that she needs to find something to prove herself to him. She overhears Salene, Alice and Ellie talking about Bray and informs the Guardian about being able to lead him to Bray.
Alice and Ellie are satisfied when Patsy convincingly hides her spying between the Chosen. May betrays the Mall Rats by working with the Guardian. Pride teaches Dal about plants, while the others are busy with planning the next attack. Amber forces Ebony to stay with them and work on getting rid of the Chosen. Ebony cries as she explains that Amber will always be the only woman for Bray. Lex kidnaps May and brings her to the others where she tells them of how the Chosen treat the Mall Rats. She leads them into a trap, and then informs the Guardian of a perfect chance for an attack. Amber convinces Dal to join them in kidnapping Trudy and Brady, but things take a turn for the worse when they realize that they've been set up. Everyone manages to escape from the Chosen except Dal, who is confronted by a couple of them. He chooses to jump from a building instead of surrendering and Amber finds him just as he says his final words before dying.
Amber is shaken as Bray holds a speech at Dal's funeral. Trudy is hurt by the set up and thinks May set it up, but the Guardian covers for their little plan. Cloe informs Ellie and Alice about what is going on at the Chosen meetings. KC doesn't know about Cloe being a spy so he lashes out on her. Amber blames herself for Dal's death. Ebony and Lex are keen on continuing the battle against the Chosen. The Guardian wants May to spy on Trudy, so May becomes Trudy's maid, which Trudy uses to her entertainment. Pride admits to Bray that it's obvious Amber loves him. Luke is impressed with Cloe's fast learning technique at the meetings. Ryan accidentally tells Alice and Ellie about Salene's pregnancy. Ebony wants Pride to do something with Amber. Amber comes up with a plan that has her leaving to find an army of people that will battle the Guardian. She visits Bray and they spend the night together, but the following morning Amber decides to leave anyway.
Trudy tells May that Cloe was caught spying and set away to work at the mines. Patsy is upset over losing her friend, but Alice and Ellie urge her to continue spying. Bray is brooding over Amber's departure and refuses to participate in training or any other activity, while Lex, Ebony and Pride keep busy. May sees Tai-San entering the Guardian's room. The Guardian wants to keep their little talks a secret. Patsy successfully pretends renouncing her Mall Rat rights at the Chosen ceremony. Ebony attempts to teach the Gaians how to fight and when she asks Bray to help her show how it's done, he almost goes too far. Alice and Ellie work on writing leaflets for others not to give up hope. Luke spies on them.
Trudy is visibly upset when May reveals that Tai-San has been doing nightly visits to the Guardian's room. Ryan hides a leaflet in his shirt when he goes to talk to Salene and refuses to give away his shirt when she tries to have it washed. Ebony confides in Pride about Bray being unwilling to talk to her, but she refuses to go along with his idea to apologize. Salene confides into Luke about her troubles with Ryan. KC doesn't know that Alice, Ellie and Ryan are putting up anti-Chosen leaflets on the farm. Trudy tells May that her relationship with the Guardian is in spirit only. Luke brings a leaflet to the Guardian, who is satisfied with all the hate, and is keen on making an example out of someone. Ebony apologizes to Bray. Trudy questions Tai-San about her visits with the Guardian, but Tai-San won't reveal anything. Luke catches Ellie putting up leaflets but decides to keep it quiet. Trudy pays the Guardian a visit and tells him that he can sleep with her instead of Tai-San.
Alice thinks Luke likes Ellie and she wants to use it to their advantage. The Guardian pretty much calls Trudy a mental case and un-pure then sends her out. Pride, Bray and Ebony convince Lex to put the attack behind for awhile until they arrange the entire plan. Patsy is scared when she's ordered to take away Brady from Trudy. May is surprised when Luke tells her that the Supreme Mother is easily dispensable, but Brady isn't. Patsy informs Alice and Ellie about Tai-San's visits to the Guardian's room, but Tai-San tells the girls that there is nothing to worry about. KC is hurt because nobody is telling him anything about what's going on. He confides in Ryan about deciding to escape. Lex tries to infiltrate the Mall dressed as the Chosen, but he's stopped by his friends before he can even leave the rebel hideout. He still decides to go through with his plan. Ryan is pleasantly surprised when Salene shows up with fruit and they talk about their future, but soon realizes that Salene is only doing it because Luke advised her about it and is probably only working on converting Ryan as well. Trudy makes serious threats to the Guardian. Lex enters the Mall and is forced to be on the Chosen meeting, where he learns that the Guardian intends to sacrifice Trudy.
Trudy is devastated upon hearing from the Guardian that Zoot wants to reunite with her in death. She begs him to forgive her, but he won't back down. Lex reveals the news to the rebels, and Bray is the only one that wants to save Trudy. Luke helps Trudy see Brady. KC wants to help out with Ellie and Alice's plans. Ryan tells Salene that she has to choose between him and the Chosen. May is worried about her job after Trudy's death, and Luke promises to help out. Luke goes to see Ellie and asks her to help him somehow save Trudy's life. The others aren't sure if they can trust Luke, but they decide to do it anyway. KC and Patsy help the others in rescuing Trudy, but when it's time for her to escape with Bray and Pride, Luke refuses to let her take Brady along.
Luke covers for the Mall Rats after Trudy's escape and gives the Guardian a satisfying story as to what has happened. Ebony and Lex are frustrated when Bray and Pride bring Trudy to the rebel headquarters, but they both realize they can use Trudy to their advantage. Trudy is having hard time dealing with being away from her baby. May is happy when the Guardian allows her to permanently take care of Brady. He questions KC about who yelled out Zoot's name and KC admits that it was him. The Guardian is confused when KC lies that he saw Zoot. Bray approaches Pride with an idea to take Trudy to Amber. Luke comforts Salene. Ebony and Lex are both mad when they learn that Bray sent Trudy away even though he got outvoted on what to do with her. The Guardian tells KC that he has a greater job for him with the Chosen.
May is bored with watching Brady. The Guardian orders Luke to black out Trudy's name over the city and call her the impostor. Alice and Ellie are worried about what KC might have told the Guardian, but he won't say and instead chooses to be smug. Brady crawls out of the room when May falls asleep. Lex is irritated by Bray's bad choices. Alice urges Ellie to use Luke's affection to their benefit. Ellie tries, but Luke resists. May worries about where Brady might have gone to, while the Guardian wants to see the divine child. May locates Brady and finds a room that has a map of the city, the same room that Cloe found before she was taken away to the mines. KC lies to the Guardian about another apparition from Zoot, and the loony Guardian immediately works on finding a deeper meaning. He delivers Zoot's word to the others, saying that all children will be in the care of Chosen, leaving Ryan angry when Salene decides to join. Pride encounters two kids, Andy and Tally, on his way back to the city and helps them sort out the poisonous berries, only to end up in a trap orchestrated by the kids and Ned.
