If it weren't for the final minutes, I don't think I would bother to keep watching. Very uninteresting pilot.
Gratuitous nudity is always a good start.
They are painting one character as dubious.
I'm going to guess it's not as simple as that.
I'm intrigued by the pilot.
Sexy and delicious. Both the show and that woman! Mamma mia!!
Even nudity couldn't help the pilot. Very disappointing start and I believe it goes on. The real problem as always is the lack of a good script. Upsetting:-(
Was it actually necessary to show Elena naked? I mean, I get that HBO has a thing for nudity, but frankly, I think the same uncomfortable/awkward feeling could have been achieved without the full frontal and back. The boob while breastfeeding was ok. The locker room scene at the gym was just gratuitos and for the shock factor.
Also, I don't get why Grace was being all fidgety and weird during the police interview. At that stage she shouldn't have had any reason to act odd and cagey. And if the husband was planning something nefarious, leaving his phone behind seems like a really stupid mistake to make.
I got interested on this not because of the indicated plot but because of the well known actors. The pilot episode did not disappoint me but shows a potentially good series. I will continue watching.
My favorite part was when at the fundraiser the lady said “we care about diversity” and then the camera zoomed out and the room was filled with white people. And my second favorite part was when Sylvia interrupted her work meeting just to call her girlfriends and gossip about a murder. And my heart breaks for Miguel.
Hmm the police interview was really generic and awful. Guess I'll check another episode and see.
This pilot provides a decent beginning and the seeds of a good mystery, but a lot of the incidental dialogue comes across as just trying too hard. In retrospect, it seems that they were trying to plant some doubts about the seemingly charming and wonderful husband, but the way that it was done was just a bit too clunky.
