From the Ladle to the Grave: The Shallow Gravy Story
A special episode, done to look like a “Behind the Music” documentary about Hank and Dermott’s band. It recounts various key events from the series from this perspective.
The best thing about it is counting all the references to who Dermott’s father is. Then, at the very end, we get to see the penny drop with Dr. Venture himself. Hilarious.
The song is good, too.

The music in this episode is suprisingly well done, I kind of wish I hade it on vinyl

9.1/10. I'm sure that this episode would have been cold comfort to those folks who were in the three-year gap between seasons, but for someone who's binge-watching the show (or at least gets to enjoy it at a speedier pace), this was a hilarious lark of an episode. Getting both Bill Heder and Kate McKinnon into the fold, and the Behind the Music parody element makes it feel like a fun mash up between Venture Bros. and Saturday Night Live. Everyone was perfectly in character, and little bits like Doc trying to take lots of credit for things and only now realizing that Dermot is son made the talking head segments a wonderful font of laughs. The actual "Jacket" music video was fun, but not necessarily that funny extended beyond the bit from "Operation P.R.O.M." But overall, this was a great melding of the show's sensibilities with the absurd self-importance of music documentaries.
