The Way of the Househusband 2021

This is a animated comic, not an anime. So don't go in expecting more than a slideshow, but it's a damn good slideshow.

I'm sure fans of the manga are disappointed, I was when I saw how lackluster Dr.Stone's anime was, but the lack of animation still works cause the comedy is so god damn god. The main visuals come across well enough and the formula of former Yakuza doing normal thing but making it look like Yakuza thing is absolutely incredible. I constantly laughed & my big complaint was that the show has so few episodes, I wanted more. I haven't read the manga but I'm definitely going to at some point now, if fans of the manga were disappointed in this, then I am very, very excited to read the manga, cause this is a real fun watch

It is weird that I like this so much? Didn't really mind the "animation" style, I felt like it gave the whole thing a little comedic punch on top of the amazing work of the seiyuus. It certainly looks like Netflix's paycheck to Tsudaken served them well. But why is this so short though...

Shockingly low effort adaptation... The manga panels are serving 1:1 as the screenplay with little animation on screen and lots of poorly drawn models and details. Might as well not have adapted this.

LITTTT! Breaks sexist connotations. I like why the whole idea here is that, him being a househusband was shocking because he was Yakuza and not because he’s a man. I don’t know. T’was refreshing.

One of my favourite mangas brought to life, and Netflix has done a pretty decent job. The English dub voice acting is good, too. While the animation style didn't appeal to me at first, I admit it has since grown on me.

This was an amazing concept and really hilarious to watch. It became a little repetitive but I still enjoyed every episode of this show.

Wholesome and funny. I love it!

Sooo….

Now I‘m sitting here and I‘m disappointed. Seeing the good ratings of this show I was expecting a very good and very funny show…

It was a solid show. Not bad but neither good. It’s okay. 5/10

The jokes weren’t good. I mean I see where they wanted to go but after seeing the anime Gokusen lately everything in this show is weaker than Gokusen and Gokusen is 17 years older!

But yes we shouldn’t compare one anime to another.

absolutely hilarious and masterfully crafted show - the English dub is even better than the Japanese (and that's usually not the case)

pure perfection. every episode, drawing, story-point, line delivery. top notch. 10 out of 10.
Also I recommend playing the Yakuza game series - it complements this genre nicely

It's manga anime, quite a nice idea... because you read manga on TV, with big pictures on TV!

I finished watching the whole thing the other day. I appreciate them for trying to stay faithful to the original source. Clearly, the live-action is much better in terms of exploring Tatsu's character as a former yakuza and a househusband.

Absolutely hilarious and Tatsu is the perfect guy lol. He needs a new wife though... Miku is annoying as f!

I must say honestly a bit disappointed at how short it is and the animation style. The comedy is great and the plot is good too but it’s completely low effort. It’s like Netflix completely gave up. Not only did I get through it in like an hour, there is barely any conclusion, nor anything else. It is not fit as a show in the state it is in, and it’s not supposed to be because manga works in a completely different way. It just sort of ends and makes you feel completely unsatisfied. And like I mentioned before, the animation is something a high schooler could have done honestly, it’s exactly what you see on YouTube done by people.
