fell to my knees in this starbucks after that oath exile scene
Very intense episode :flushed: Now the trip to the Dark One should really get intensive . It's time for ACTION :clapper:
Everyone is hot and bothered about the Moiraine relationship, and no one is talking about the completely rewritten relationship and characters' motivations this episode? Until this episode the show was following the books quite closely, despite all the cuts, reshuffling, and merging of scenes and places. But this episode? It's like the script writers sat and said, "All right, we've done the obligatory tribute, it's time to write our own story". The Loial is completely different from the giddy book self (who doesn't even question why they should use the Ways), Rand and Egwene still play the couple (and where's Min???). They merged Caemlyn and Tor Valon? Fine, but wtf is the whole White Tower business that took half the episode. And speaking of Min, where are all the visions? But especially the very end, like wtf was that.
I am not sure what to think about this episode, the magic shown in it was quite impressive, particularly when Moiraine heals Mat from the influence of the dagger, and the main hall of Tar Valor looks really magical, though I did not particularly like the plot. There was not much about Lan this episode, and his relationship with Nynaeve seems to be totally inexistent, Nynaeve herself appears only for brief scenes when she confronts Moiraine and later together with Egwene when they talk to Siuan. It is great that all Two Rivers people are finally reconnected, though not much time was devoted to them as the episode was rather Moiraine-focused. Her relationship with Siuan is bizarre as it seems they are lovers, but nevertheless Siuan humiliates her in front of all other sisters (apparently to hide their romance). Anyway, there are not many of these Aes Sedai sisters, apart from the sitters only some Reds and Greens, it does not look they are going to make a great difference in the world and the fight against the darkness. I really hated the storyline of Moiraine and Siuan's romance since even though they are "pillow friends" when they are Accepted, it does not look like this type of relationship continued after their becoming Aes Sedai and into their adulthood; and it was pressing LGBT agenda into the show in a totally unnecessary way as the time used for Siuan and Moiraine's romance could be used to present more things taken from the book such as the Ways, it was really exciting as the characters were about to enter the Ways but I was afraid there would be no time left in the episode to show the Ways themselves and I was right. I am not sure why Mat does not enter the ways since I cannot recall from the novel whether he was there with the rest of the protagonists, though I am under the impression that they all went in together, including Mat.
This episode is a finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form: https://chicon.org/home/whats-happening/hugo-awards/
I will reiterate that this interpretation of Loial is delightful.
I take it back. THIS is the best episode of the season. I loved everything about it.
This show is at it's best when the men have limited screen time.

Come on! Now the friendship between Moiraine and Siuan Sache became a lesbian love story, which is so unnecessary!
And even not logical when you think of, that she wanted to marry Gareth Bryne in the books.
Fun fact: The story is already inconsistent to the explaining specials of the show, where it is said, that the reborn dragon is male, while they are still unsure in the show...
Everyone, who doesn't know the books propably asks itself, why there is this one bad acting guy with red hair, who has only one sentence to say in each episode...
Still annoying is that everyone looks super clean, even Siuan Sache, after she went fishing with her father when she was a child..
I don't know, if it's the script or the cast:
As Amyrlin she looks super weak, while she is a super powerful woman in the books with a strong presence. In the show she always looks, like she would start to cry.
The episode itself wasn't too bad. The ending seems to be promising for the next episode, so hopefully finally a lot of bullshit can stop.
