I really don't understand what episodes like this are there for.. Boring and silly plot, you can skip this one.
TIL:
Having a symbol on a doorframe grants government agents the right to forcibly open doors on residences, enter the premises and remove anything they desire.
Computers can do anything. This is something The X-Files has taught me time and time again.
FBI agents have the authority to burst into an operating theater without the proper garb, yell while flashing their badge and stop procedures. When feeling randy, they possess the ability to casually stroll into procedures that are underway. No, they don't need masks or to be sanitized. The power of the law disinfects them.
Another episode in which the existence of magic (and potentially religious lore and entities) is presented, which sits on a shelf with multiple alien species and accompanying technology, mutations, the paranormal, groups comparable to the illuminati, and countless conspiracies. The series would've been better had it been grounded and alluded to these topics. Instead, the showrunners chose to build ever larger shark-filled tanks to jump across.
This is the second graphically gory episode this season (at least one instance of which is gruesomely good). When the pen fails... Why is it that so many in positions to produce applicable projects seem to forget the golden rule: Content is king.
Takeaway: Fox and Scully are terrible FBI agents. Their solved case ratio is very low. Even then, they never pursue the truth, which is supposed to be the underlining theme and Fox's personal mission. In one episode, I recall Fox actually saying, via the wonder of paraphrasing, "Not our problem. We bag 'em, you tag 'em." So much for enlightenment.
This episode was stupid, silly and entertaining. On the upside, one of the actors wasn't called upon to emote and there was no creepy sexual innuendo paralleling someone's personal interests.
I was going to rate this episode lower, but I don't have the heart. Someone took it and is keeping it in a box. They threatened to crush it if I were to do so.
I couldn't believe how disgusting this was, you have to appreciate them going all-in! Found myself genuinely cringing and recoiling at some of the excellent effects work.

This has to be one of the goriest episodes of any TV show I've ever seen. Buckets of blood, an acid-melted face, and a liposuction procedure that turns into a stabbing death. The story itself is just okay, but only the gore really makes it memorable.
