The X-Files: Season 7

7x12 X-Cops

This one's actually great. Scully vs cameramen is my new favourite thing.

Scully being a mood in every single scene she's in is the reason this episode works so well, she is hilarious. And awesome. And so done with everybody! The part in the morgue could be one of my favourites in the whole series.

At first I was like “oh great a stupid gimmick episode”. Ended up loving it.

So much fun! I love comedic episodes and this is one of the best. I also love a good “on-shoulder camera” and this genious crossover episode delivers, of course. I even felt some Blair Witch Project vibes, I’m not sure which came first. Anyway, we have the classic Mulder vs. Scully (i.e. believer vs. scientist) clash, lots of thrilling action and great characters such as the queer black couple. So yeah, great episode from the classic TV series The X-Files, ladys and gentlemen XD

One of my favorite episodes! I absolutely loved the fact that this probably aired on FOX while COPS was also on the air. I loved the idea that some people might have actually taken it seriously as a COPS episode due to the intro being basically identical to the actual cop show.

Opening the door to those two absolute KINGS is so fantastic :joy: I also love that this show almost became a caricature onto itself, they really knew how to keep it entertaining

This has become my favourite Funny-X-File episode so far. To me, slightly better than #5.12: "Bad Blood."

LOL I remember seeing this on TV. They make it a reality show style of COPS, even has the intro song and bumpers. I thought I heard someone mention Freddy Krueger, and this is probably the closest we'd ever get to a Nightmare on Elm Street / The X-Files crossover

David braking character during Steve and Edy scenes is priceless!!

Fantastic episode. One of the most unconventional and best on the show. I wasn't surprised to learn Vince Gilligan wrote the episode, he who often plays with convention in the episodes he writes. He's one of the best writers on the show. It's no surprise he later went on to even greater success.

I love this episode. I love the camera work in the style of the show Cops, and it's so different to the series usual camerawork. I love the acting, the feeling of additional realism, and the slight differences we see in Mulder and Scully because of that, because their characters know there is a camera following them and they're on tv. It's all a bit meta, and that's nice. I like the villainous force in this episode, the explanation behind it. I like the other cop characters. I like the gay couple. I like the comedy. So many good scenes and long takes. Love it.

Corny goodness at its finest

Mulder and Scully are featured in an episode of "Cops". They are hunting for a "full moon" killer who keeps changing his form. The story's premise is cool. The killer is a fear-based entity that can take on the form of its victim's greatest fear. This story is funny but there are some pretty cool scares in it. The way Scully tries to hide from the TV cameras and eventually just turns ornery is priceless.

Secondary characters in this episode: none
