After watching one of the best episodes (X-Cops; episode before this one). This was really cringe. LMAO I felt so offended as computer enthusiast.

There’s episodes I’ve disliked more because of how dull I found them but for overall silliness, this one takes the cake.
It's pretty clear that this was supposed to be over-the-top. The Lone Gunman are in this and Mulder and Scully dressed in paintball gear fighting a virtual reality killer. The tech is hopelessly dated but it's endearing. I feel sorry for viewers who can't place themselves in the time of when the episode was made. The very humble commentary by Chris Carter on the Blu-Ray set made me like this a little more.

Everything you've heard about this episode is an understatement. You can't unwatch it. You've been warned.
Aside: I refuse to lay blame for this episode on Gibson. Having read almost all his fiction (if not all) and some of his non-fiction, I don't believe it. However, I have met The X-Files once or twice. Statistically typing, that's where the blame goes. Miss Execution.
The only person who belongs here, revels in it and reveals their soul is the lead male actor.
In re-watching the X Files from the start, I've come to realize my fond memories of the show are significantly based on selective memory. I don't remember this one from before, and hopefully I can wipe it from my memory once again.
Started off promising, but quickly fell apart at the pixels...
Such an incredibly stupid episode. Start of the new century, they had to include this topic that was big back then. Half-Life came out a year ago, people were going wild for shooters. If you don't go for watching every single episode, skip this one without leaving a thought behind.
