Mulder is in hiding and we learn more about the super soldier conspiracy.
I like Kirsch as a secret good guy. We saw hints of it in these past two episodes, but this confirms it, or mostly does.
This episode was pretty creepy.
So there's this sudden program to create super soldiers. It was talked about in the finale of last season. I don't like if they're "unkillable" though. They half tried to portray Billy Miles a prototype super soldier, but that would have made no sense so i didn't buy it.
And now they've been successful in the program, and now they want to infect the water supply to make people start breeding super soldiers... Okay?
And this is a government plot? And is this a part of the government who knows about the alien threat and that's why they are doing this? Or it is just for power sake?
Probably the former if the soldiers were made with alien dna.
And Scully's baby is a super soldier?
This whole program feels kind of off. I mean i guess it's buyable, but not how durable the super soldiers are. We saw the efforts of the syndicate for so long focused on various projects, mostly on the vaccine, and never on any sort of super soldier project, so we do feel a bit off when it comes to these more newer developments. It also shows clearly that these are newer plot ideas and have not been built up or thought through much or as much as the others, and so then we feel even more off as we feel less immersed in the story and the fictional world around that story.

I'm giving this one more point than Part One because something explodes. Kidding aside, I was actually getting angry because the attempts to build up drama about the conspiracy being an inside job at the FBI was so lame. The reveal of spreading alien DNA by way of contaminating the water supply is just dull.
Mulder has disappeared because he was warned he'd be killed...I guess? He almost died in every episode of the show that came before so this makes no sense. At the time of airing, everyone that watched the show knew that Duchovny wouldn't return for Season 9. They had to explain that away somehow.
Scully's baby William is showing hints of superpowers because as an infant, he's making the mobile above his bed rotate. This moves Scully to action as she joins Doggett and Reyes in the investigation of the alien DNA lab aboard a ship. The answer of course, proves to be just out of reach as the trio has to exit the ship early or be killed by a bomb that's about to go off.
Please, for all that is sacred, bring on the monster-of-the-week episodes! I can't take any more of the story arc.
