I really enjoyed that episode :) It was nice finally learning more about Beth (I hope we'll get an episode about Zoe soon, too) and the actress for her teenage self was fantastic - She nailed the look and the mannerisms.
It was also interesting to see the difference between how the Big 3 and Beth grieved about their fathers - Beth never really had time to grieve and feel sad, while the Big 3 never really stopped grieving and still seem to carry that grief around everywhere.
Oh, and it was so refreshing to see Randall supporting Beth when she wanted to go back to dancing! He has been pretty self-absorbed lately with the whole campaign and this felt like "the good ol' days".
The casting for teen Beth is eerie. They have almost identical faces and expressions. Well done! Loved this episode so much. Beth is a champion.
First, the casting crew and teenage Beth deserve a standing ovation. The acting was always on point and Beth’s expressions were reproduced perfectly by the teenage actress.
Then they used a contact lens (I guess) to give young and teenage Beth the same black dot in the eye as adult Beth. God is in the details!
Two This Is Us moments in this episode: when adult Beth says the things she didn’t said as a teenager to her dying father and the sorry mom speech to her adult daughter.
I didn’t care too much about the ending and Randall supporting his wife. It’s good old Randall and I’m just happy he’s back. Beth dancing was great. I anticipated the “I want to teach” finale.
I cared much more about this episode than the previous Uncle Nick episodes.
Beautiful story, so wholesome!
Abe:
When have we ever listened to the odds?
Randall:
When have we ever listened to the people?
Finally a good episode. Was time about to learn about Bethany's past.

Dang, the final reveal didn't pack much of a punch at all, but that fucking piano on the other hand... It got me every time.
As others have said, perfect casting of Teen Beth, but I'd go ahead and congratulate them on the parents as well. They did a lot with the screen time they were given.
