The writing of the black girl, her brother and the mixed raced guy are so bad, it honestly hurts me. Why do they make her have to act so hood with people and the police? Not all black people hate cops. Can't she just be a girl that loves ballet? The brother is like a Doctor, but is just hood on the phone with his sister, can't they just interact with people normally? Especially since he's on the phone at work. The mixed race guy, how is he going to hate his roommate because he's Muslim and his dad was in the military? Also what the fuck was that " I got a thief, don't think I won't tell because I'm a "brother"" thing? First off not all black people do that, plus its like a joke that was written by a 45 year old middle class white person, it wasn't funny and makes me hate this guy even more, he's a terrible person that tries to act like he's a good guy.
This show is a drama around a ballet school, why does it feel the need to have such social drama going on when they can barely even get across the drama that they should be. A murder of a girl that one cop is looking in to, it's barely discussed how it should be and all the drama around it is irrelevant, so why have the murder be around at all? This is just a ballet school drama at this point, just make it about consistent backstabbing, friendship and all the things a drama should have and not web out in to issues they can't and won't discuss in detail like race, religion, class, etc.
It feels like the last season of Pretty Little Liars where they are doing random drama, but are going to rush to move the story forward in the last few episodes. It should be a bit more like the first 2 seasons of PLL honeslty, but this show falls flat, its slow, not greatly acted and feels like it doesn't know where it wants to go. I'm no ballet expert or enthusiast, but the dancing is good and some of the stories around injuries, passion and being a teen in such a competitive scenario are cool to watch, just the story isn't going anywhere and some of these characters feel hollow in a way. I'm just going to power through and see where it leads.
June wants to emancipate herself cause her mom wants to transfer her from a chicago private school to a ny private school, I really can’t stop laughing. I know her mom doesn’t support her ballet dreams, and that sucks but I don’t think that makes her an unfit or bad parent, and I feel like going to ny isn’t that bad idea cause if you aren’t succeeding in the chicago ballet market maybe you could do it at ny? But I hope this doesn’t give tween girlies watching the show any ideas (like my parents don’t support my career goal of being an actress so emancipation: ON), but I also hope that if anyone is living with an abusive family they can get the help they need!
I also couldn’t stop laughing when the headmaster’s assistant said that they were invited to the ballet thingy but only with 50% discount off on the tickets, that was something my college used to do too! Like yeah you are invited everywhere but you gotta pay oh but here you go a 10% coupon off!
And wow Shane’s performance! He is been stealing the spotlight!!
That is some domestic violence shit. Shane must be protected at all costs!

Why is June trying to get emancipated, pretty sure she wouldn't win because her mum wants her to do something else with her life or go to a different school. Plus why didn't her "friend" just admit to what she did, could have helped her get back the roll and you know make a bit more sense. Nonsense written by adults who know better.
