I can not believe this... It was a bit slow but made me remember last season, which I think was way more slow, and great work at the end with that, left me wanting to see the next one right away.
It was so hard for me to stay up.. I was really tired and I was bored but WHAT THE HELL just happened at the end of this episode?! I was so shocked!
Wow, the scene with the crow man
Wow, the scene with the crow man
No idea of what's going on. So slow that i fell asleep...
All the characters but Ani (McAdams) feel empty and forced. I can't tell if it's the writing, the acting, or the fact it followed a 10/10 season.
if his wife has moved on with life, Raymond absolutely has to. he can't remain angry at the world or wallow in his grief forever. hopefully, this episode ending incident will give him another perspective at life.
Oh jeez, that ending man
Scene starts -> scene ends -> cut to: LA landscapes -> rinse and repeat
This was dry. And I think there's an important distinction to be made between dry and slow. Slow isn't necessarily a bad thing. It certainly works wonders for the first season and a multitude of other pieces, from Malick to Tarkovsky. Dry is something more bland. The show is still slow, sure. But that's okay, it's a slow-burn. But the problem is that it's just kind of devoid of a lot of the most intriguing bits that made the first season so delicious. Namely the broody, bleak philosophizing that permeated the entire series, whether in the interview scenes or the period scenes. Rust was always there, getting a read on you. It was beyond engrossing.
Here, it feels like the editing structure stayed unchanged from the previous season without an understanding the writing structure is different. This season is much more detective, noir focused. Without any sort of voice over to cover the reliance on landscape imagery, I really don't know what I'm meant to glean from repetitive shots of LA highways.
McAdams is still great. Farrell got some much needed depth and judgment checks here. Vaughn definitely gave his all in that opening monologue and it was solid. I loathe Kitsch's character through and through--sexist, homophobic asshole.
I just feel like Chad isn’t a person worth doing all this fuzz for...
And I don’t quite understand what’s going on with Vince and his businesses, and still feel like that isn’t so well integrated to the main story, maybe it would’ve been better if they started w the investigation and then you see how the corrupt officers and business people are involved, not the other way around.
للحين ماقدرت أركز زين ، مو عارفه السالفة
Not the most eventful episode until the very end. 80% of it is the necessary legwork for the investigation, both on the parts of the detectives and as a pleasant surprise Frank is also getting in on the investigation for his own reasons. Again, the acting is great for the most part and the directing is on point. The complexity of the story is still unfolding, as it should. The pimp with the gold teeth may be my favorite minor character ever. There's also a huge twist at the end, I'll leave it at that.

So he got shot in the privates by the shotty at the end, right? Like Caspere? I can't see them killing him off in the second episode. I like where they're going with Frank as well, its great to see Vaughn doing this kind of work.
