The original Up Close series may have ceased to exist on October 17, 2001, but ESPN Classic and Roy Firestone didn't wish to let go of the best daily afternoon program in the history of the ESPN Networks. Prior to the death of Up Close, Roy assemble-edited interviews of his favorite subjects and turned them into this two-year ESPN Classic project.
