[7.3/10] Not a bad one. The notion of Selina feeling on top of the world after her successful Middle East tour, only to get dragged down by getting called out by Leon West for keeping him detained for an extra day for a photo op was a nice premise. Doing a semi-bottle episode with the two of them on Air Force one led to some good moments, and Ben being exhausted after a bunch of ambien but still trying to do his job was pretty funny.
As is often the case, the peak of the comedy was Gary and Mike as the hapless schucks running around the Tehran airport trying to get back home. Bill Ericsson’s assessment of them as “Laurel and Hardy” was appropriate, and the scenes of them frantically trying to get through the Iran airport with their garbage bags full of booze was some great physical comedy.
VP Doyle trying to read Selina’s speech about gay atheletes led was pretty damn funny, as was Jonah trying to strike back at the fact that Kent had polled other potential VP candidates. The whole Teddy groping Jonah thing has been a weird running thread this season, but the episode turned it into some good comedy with Jonah confessing what’s been happening and getting upset that he’s on speaker phone, while everyone hearing him is bewildered.
Dan getting into lobbying life was a bit underwhelming, and I’m not especially compelled by the show teasing him and Amy as a couple. Still, there were some decent bon mots there.
Overall, not as funny as the last one, but some solid stuff all around.
Catherine is the funniest character

"I feel like I'm on a life support machine, and they keep pulling the plug to charge their phones." That's probably the best Veep line so far.
