Last summer, ESPNers from various content platforms came up with the idea of creating a content package centered on embedding with a group of season ticket holders for a specific team.
They ended up spending the 2016 season with Chicago Bears season ticket holders in section 250 of Soldier Field. The original series We The Fans was born focused on profiling people with rich lives, connected by fandom, who reflect the die-hard mentality of many sports fans. The concept has evolved into an eight-episode TV series, a multimedia digital package, a story in ESPN The Magazine and a weekly wrap up podcast.
