Why Didn't They Ask Evans? 2022

[Movistar+] A solid adaptation of the novel by Agatha Christie, written and directed by Hugh Laurie who makes some questionable decisions but gives the miniseries an adequate pacing, and introduces elements of humor that, however, don't prevent some confusion in solving the crime. Although it has a lukewarm start, the three episodes structure the story to build up the mystery, getting progressively better.

I think this was really cute and kept me guessing since I haven't read the story since I was very young. I liked the cast but it dragged in a couple places and not quite the thriller one might expect. Agatha Christie was pure mystery and left you guessing until the end, although the colors were laced in the text. Laurie did a good job with that, but I think the love story was a little too dry. Plus the characters could've been developed more. Maybe it would've been better if it had been 4 episodes instead of 3 and the details included better.

it's still a good story for a lazy afternoon.

I hate to admit this but I was pretty bored and had to force myself to keep watching all the way to the end. I found the Agatha Christie's Criminal Games version of this story to be a much more enjoyable experience (because it is STELLAR).

I half remembered the book and Dame Agatha still managed to deceive me. Well done mini series.

Pretty good series - nice and short with only 3 episodes.
A bit confusing at times (typical Agatha Christie show/movie, though I've never read any books - they all seem to follow the same line).

7/10
