Wisting 2019

[Viaplay] Assuming his condition as a nordic noir with all its consequences, the show builds a more interesting character than the cases he investigates, too subject to fortuitous discoveries and unlikely twists. While S1 balances well the police plot with the portrayal of characters, S2 is too weak, excessively slow in its development and hasty in its resolution.

Watchable Nordic Noir drama. For international fans, the draw will likely be the presence of Carrie Anne-Moss but I actually find her character, FBI Agent Maggie Griffin, to be one of the weaker elements; kind of a stereotypically brusque American who reaches for her gun first. On the other hand, the title character of William Wisting and his relationship with his daughter, Line, is pretty well written and nicely acted by Sven Nordin and Thea Green Lundberg. The cases are fine but nothing terribly captivating; the character drama is more the appeal here.

It's intriguing enough, but it's unstable. Takes some dedication getting through this show.
