In a chance at achieving their dreams of becoming WWE Superstars, men and women from around the world gather in Las Vegas to see if they are truly Tough Enough. After a panel of judges weeds through 250 potential contestants, 13 finalists are given the opportunity of a lifetime to start down the arduous road to performing before the WWE Universe.
On the first official day of the competition, the 13 finalists assemble at the Tough Enough house. However, when one finalist fails to pass their physical, another contestant receives a second chance. As these men and women begin the rigorous training, the pressures and physical limitations become too much for one finalist.
While their journey to the WWE roster continues, the contestants receive a giant surpise when the Big Show stops by with some words of wisdom. After being pushed to the limit in the early stages of training, Aaron returns from the hospital to reclaim his spot in the competition. Plus, the first cut of season is decided.
Following the first cuts of the season, the contestants continue their training and discover that personality plays a big part in becoming a WWE Superstar. When the contestants take a trip to the local bar, Hawk and Kenny are faced with a challenge that may have big consequences for the rest of the house.

While injuries continue to plague the group, the contestants receive a break from training to take a trip to Monday Night RAW. As they discover what goes on backstage, the contestants are given a lesson that they will never forget. Jake, Kenny, Alicia, and Pete all get in trouble after training at Trax and get punished by John ""Big"", Alicia gets cut on the spot because of her back problem, Jessie decides to leave because her body is in pain, Pete and Jackie flirt majorly - to the point where Jackie says ""I want to f--- you"" to Pete!, and Chris Jericho pays a visit.
After Jackie and Pete have a romantic encounter in the hot tub, the group gives Pete some advice on what to do next. As the effects of their exhausting training continues to take a toll on the contestants, Tough Enough season 1 winners Maven and Nidia stop by to encourage the group. While Jackie looks to resolve her problems with her boyfriend, Pete continues to pursue their relationship. Plus, the group is informed they will be taking a special trip and more.
After Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson drop by the house for a pool party, the competition takes a wild turn as the group goes on a special trip to South Africa. While the contestants enjoys all the sights from this extraordinary visit, they receive more in-ring training in the footsteps of a giant. Plus, Ivory shares some wisdom with the girls.
While the contestants continue to embrace their experiences in South Africa, Hawk makes a difficult decision after his emotions get the better of him. After excelling in his training, Kenny enjoys the fruits of his labor. As group prepares to travel back to the states, the locals show their appreciation for them with a special dance.
As the group resumes their training back in the states, Jackie suffers an injury.
