So far the mystery looks pretty straight forward, her mom was collateral damage while working on that family’s company, they covered it up, adopted her and moved on. Unless there’s a double turn?
Overall I enjoyed the show, it was entertaining and slightly different, the first half was way better while the second half was a little undone…
First of all I think all episodes should’ve been 36-42 mins, not 23 mins!
Then I thought the whole point of it being called “Based on a True Story” was for every season to be about a different killer, so I couldn’t believe this was the ending, like if we continue with this pace this story is gonna have a resolution by season 5.
And then I feel like this could’ve gone a few different ways but it ended going for my least favorite choice
I wanted for Matt to not actually be the killer and just pretending to cause he saw they were in need of a hit and money to save their marriage and he really liked them as friends so he went along with it
Or for them (Kaley and her husband) to suspect of him and forced him to be in their podcast as a favor but he was clueless about all the situation and he accidentally did shady stuff and then the killer was actually one of the husbands of the real estate ladies
But Matt actually being a women serial killer and them being their accomplices makes this show lose its charm, or Matt could’ve been an inclusive killer and kill all genders, but this wasn’t the case so this feels uncomfortable.
That omelette looked good!!
My only issue with the story -and it’s not really an issue cause this is not real life- is that The Beef is like a deli or sandwich shop in like I’m gonna say a middle class family neighborhood, like you got some local mafia guys hanging out there, but like very family style and traditional situation so how does The Bear fits in that street or for that public? Or maybe they are in downtown Chicago? Idk, but I feel it’s gonna be a very expensive and like “bougie” place, like weren’t they hosting arcade game competitions there?? So I feel like The Bear could possibly fail because they didn’t do a proper market research
Like I genuinely want to know how kaley + her husband thought they would become millionaires off of an anonymous murder podcast, being that it had to be anonymous cause they are all criminals
Was that Claire from the vampire dairies? Love her!
I loved the idea of the name “based on a true story:” so it can be a series! lol
Another way this could’ve went so they weren’t accomplices to a crime was that Matt was forcing them to make the podcast or it would be so funny if the guy that is interested in buying a house is the real killer and it turns out Matt was just playing along cause he felt sorry for them
I didn’t vibe with this!
I thought it was all about comedy and I laughed three times, with the “stray” cat, John talking to his mom multiple times a day, and the shady neighbor being just a realtor
But imo there was no comedy, no chemistry, no romance, the action/missions were pointless
Also killing the cat was very cruel, a scratch would’ve been enough
Did Madeline changed wigs??? One with bangs to another one identical but with no bangs? Why?
My only issue is that he is a serial women killer so it would’ve been better if he was just an all people killer
And I think this could’ve been funnier if they did their podcast about the westside ripper but they were clueless about the real killer like they thought it was Tom but it was actually Bob and they thought they were partnering with the real one…
Like I don’t see how this ends good for the couple if they are actually covering for a murder and they know it
He just needed to adopt another cat!!
It took me the two first episodes to get hooked but now I kinda get it.
I’m surprised this sibling was the second one, they seemed one of the strongest and most interesting ones
However this show is still giving me like lifetime movie vibes? The characters seem like caricatures
I find it unrealistic that he was able to buy THREE taylor swift tickets
So now she’s the crazy possessive jealous one? And he’s the chill cool guy. So lame.
Is every episode supposed to happen every two months or something like that? How did it escalate to him buying a cottage for them, his asking her to have his kids, them fighting like that, him being bitter of her???
No romance, no chemistry, no seduction, no laughter, this show is giving us nothing.
The other jane/john plot was fun cause I was like they aren’t even sure they work for the same people and they are spilling all the deets, and then I was maybe they are rivals and they are there to kill them, so it was fun that tension and not knowing
Now they are in the i love you stage? After three episodes? This should’ve been a slow burn romance or more like you see they have a lot of chemistry and you want them to act on it
I loved the other john/jane bit, it was the show being self aware. Now I demand an Eiza prequel!
I don’t know if I’m making sense but this has Severance vibes and I would have preferred for this to be more vivid, fast paced, colorful, like you can tell they are depressed
And I find it unrealistic that a bomb cake survived the fall when Jane ran into that lady
Ryan you little b:asterisk_symbol:tch!!!! He makes me so upset, saying the cohens are seth parents in a mean way, after all the love they have given him!!!
And come on cage fighting, he’s such a loser!!!
I didn’t watch this show when it first aired cause I was just a kid but somehow I always knew what happened to Marissa and I knew there was a car accident involved but I always thought when Ryan was carrying Marissa he was screaming MARISSAAAAAAAA so I was expecting that but instead it was just a whisper…
I can only imagine what could’ve been if Marissa went with her dad and for the finale she came back and maybe then Ryan and Marissa were ready to be together, but we’ll never know.
I wonder if one of the reasons Mischa left the show was because something happened between her and the actor who plays Ryan, cause you could totally tell Ryan hated her guts and that wasn’t acting, like the chemistry between them was gone.
And I’m scared for the next season because hs shows which suddenly turn to college shows never turn quite right. Specially when you separate everyone, Ryan staying in California, Summer and Seth going to the east coast :/
And I’m sad Marissa never got her redemption arc, she was so misunderstood and lost and deserved better!! She was bad for Ryan but also Ryan was bad for her so I wonder what her life could’ve been with better friends/partners and obviously PARENTS.
This series overall was such an interesting watch! Something I haven’t seen before like.
I was warned by twitter and tiktok that this show was cringe inducing, but that was its purpose so that’s good! However I was prepared for an extreme level of cringe and awkwardness, and this was mild in comparison.
So I guess that ending was Asher’s curse? Which is ok by me, except Whitney wasn’t that much of a better person… on the last scene I felt like Whitney was at peace and like smirking and my first instinct was like yesss girl, you are free! but then I realized like there’s a reason they were together in the first place so…
I would’ve wanted for the whole show to be as surreal and bizarre as this last episode, but I was a great watch!
I feel like something is very wrong with me because obviously this episode is very joyful but I felt nothing
Ugh Ryan is so irritating, like Theresa said, there’s people out there who don’t fight, ever, so why is Ryan like that. And he’s jeopardizing his future, going to college!! He’s so dumb
Wait, what was the book Richie was referencing? The one about the train watcher? Is this like the toy story thing from oitnb? Or like thg scene in bottoms?
This episode was like 2 steps forward 5 steps back!!! A lot of emotions!!
Summer why do you think you wouldn’t fit in Brown? You are gorgeous and smart, and totally have the autumn vibe
Seth you are so dumb but that school of design actually makes sense!
Marissa can you even become friends w other girlies? And go back with that loser guy???
Kirstin, I feel so bad for her!! Her dad died, she left her job, she hit rock bottom and got clean, her kids are leaving for college and all she needs is her husband and he’s away playing mobster for a dumb hospital
Theresa… that baby is blond af, that’s ryan’s baby!!!
How many times has Seth broken Summer’s heart?????
I’m gonna miss Sadie!! She was normal but too good for Ryan, he needs to get his sht together!! She had to deal with his brother’s exgf and with marissa, and also Ryan was kinda at fault of what happened to Johnny (if we go back to the leg accident)
Sandy was so wrong for turning his back on matt!! When Matt is the one who had to do sandy’s dirty work. Sandy was the one who told him to get close to Morena Baccarin!!
Ugh Ryan is such a coward for not talking directly with Marissa
And it made me sad that she wasn’t at his bday party, I wish their break up was after his bday, also I feel like there’s a time in which they had a bigger friend group! Autumn Reeser was missing.
And I still don’t get who that guy is!!! It should’ve been one of Johnny’s surfer friends, that would’ve made sense, not this random guy that works construction but has a fast and furious life?
I was like Ryan get up!!! That was embarrassing.
Why do I feel like Marissa and Matt are gonna be a thing…
And also who’s that other guy? He is just there, did they even explain his relationship with Johnny
And I can’t believe that was Ryan and Marissa’s break up, that was very Joe Jonas of him, it should’ve been in person!!
