Oh, after two wasted seasons the plot might actually become interesting again!
Instead of havong yet another external threat it seems to be about consolidating powers and fighting internal resistance. Seems like a wise plot choice. On the other hand... we can be sure the show will mess it up again, just like they always do.
Damn, that was something! A lot happened in this episode. I really like how Negan played it all out, patiently waiting for Simon to make a mistake and to take Dwight down right after. Poor Dwight, I think he will suffer a great deal.
Also, I think both Negan and Rick are right, it is too late for peace now, too much has happened on both ends. Maybe in a different era.
Wow, an actual creepy episode, an interesting threat is finally here with The Whisperers and I can't wait to see what they bring to the second half of this season
I really love when Morgan said "all life is precious", he is the contrast of Rick. Rick, as Morgan, has lost everything, but you can see Morgan (Ok, once he was crazy, but now he is not) isn't gone crazy as Rick has.
Let's point this out: Morgan isn't using his loses as excuses to kill anyone who stands in front of him, don't challenge the man with the stick when he says "all life is precious", he is damn right, this reflects a inner peace of this man which is critical, more critical than the skill of killing people indiscriminately, if you want to survive in the zombie apocalypses from the the threats that comes from the outside... and from the inside.
I love King Ezekiel, it's nice to see Carol being Carol, and this episode actually looked like a graphic novel so kudos to... whoever made that happen (the director and the DP?). MUCH better than last week's episode, imho.
Is anyone counting the number of times someone had the perfect opportunity to kill Negan but didn't do it for some stupid reason?
I haven't read the comics so I didn't quite know what to expect from The Kingdom, but damn was the King awesome, and his court jester was funny as hell. It was really good to finally see some hope for the group, and the overall happiness this episode was refreshing.
TWD is a gross, violent show and normally I love that about it because it'd be weird if it weren't, given that it's about the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. But tonight's ep was just gratuitous. Just ugly and crude and in-your-face for its own sake. Negan's not even the kind of bad guy you can love to hate. He's a bully and you KNOW he was already evil before the world to shit.
If this is what this season's going to be about... trying to crush the spirits of those who've managed to survive this long - people who are trying to rebuild a better world, all because you're a selfish prick who wants to be king of the trash heap? Nehhh. I'm not on board. That's not even an interesting story to tell. I hate Negan so much he almost makes me miss the Governor.
This show has been losing steam anyway. I'll give it a few more episodes into this season but if this doesn't take a serious turn in that time, this may finally be it for me.
This might just be the best TWD episode I have watched in years. In years.
Ooh boy glad this shit‘s over and I made it through this wrecked trashcan of a plot. But now really? THAT is what you will sell us next season? Daryl vs Rick?! That’s a messed up cliffhanger, why should I wait to see these Bros to go at each other wtf??
WTF!!! Did the dead just talk?! so surprising!!!
Negan is truly speaking the truth at the end of this episode, Rick is an idiot who of course first thing he's gonna do is not give a shit about what Carl asked him to stop doing.
At the beginning of the episode when Rick is showing Michonne and Carl how to build a snare, he explains that you do it in a way where there's a funnel so the animal has only one way to go until the end where the trap is hidden. This is the exact way the people at Terminus draw in survivors. They guide them down the train tracks until they get to Terminus where the trap has been laid.
That's so FIIIIRRREEEE
this is a wonderfully depressing and dark episode
I really like how it approaches the idea of how kids would develop in a world like this
how some might be desensitized to the whole idea of zombies
it's also one of the defining Carol moments of the show
"Simply put, there is a vast ocean of shit that you people don't know shit about. Rick knows every fine grain of said shit. And then some."
Best quote of the whole season.
When Glenn found the batteries, Abraham asked: "how did you know those were there?", and he just smiled. Yeah, I miss Dale too :(
Good episode, overall. I enjoyed it!
Now that's how you end a Season!!! "They're fucking with the wrong people!"
I guess this season was most character development and a buildup into the next season.
Bottom line, it was great
The Carol + Darryl reunion = crying time grabs tissue. Awwwwww
I honestly don't understand some of the hate this is getting.
First of all, if you don't like cliffhangers, you shouldn't watch serialized TV shows as they air. Wait for Netflix and binge. Cliffhangers have been a part of TV for a long time and they're not going anywhere. If you thought the season will wrap up nicely, despite everybody already knowing for a fact the show was renewed, you're a moron. Almost every show on Earth ends a season with a cliffhanger if they know they are getting renewed.
I also don't get the hate for Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I found the 10 minutes of Neagan to be some of the most tense, and also entertaining, 10 minutes this show had to offer in many years. I have no knowledge of the comics, so I can't comment on that, but I, for one, can't wait to see more of him.
What stopped me from rating this 10/10 was the terrible subplot with Emo Carol. Luckily that didn't take up too much time.
This had to be rated 10/10
What a brilliant episode from the first minute right to the end.
Trouble is approaching from all sides; the next season already has so much promise.
So! "Rick, Do It!"
WHAT THE FUCK, Priest Kanye West???? How ungrateful! After they've saved your fucking life and helped you?
So, we have silent assassin zombies now? Sneaking behind people without a single sound and killing them? Lmao what a comedy.
Beautiful bojutsu work. The stick is one of the most amazing non-letal practical weapons you will ever use!
